Kind of like how y'all needed it with CPA???

Officiating this year in general has been bad.

The PC / CPA game was terribly called, but when I watched the PC / Cordova game there were terrible calls against PC.  I think CPA had the same crew versus Hillsboro.  And last week we had a crew that ignored illegal cut blocks which resulted in CPA’s mister everything (#4) missing the rest of the season.

This game should be a lot of fun with the James / Parker matchup. I just hope you guys get a competent crew so neither side feels like they were shorted.

The person who brought up officiating in the Giles/Fairview game was searching.  Fairview had more penalty yards than Giles.  At one point Fairview had a 2nd & 44 on a drive that began at midfield.

Fairview did get a raw deal in the Ravenwood game.  After #21 picked off a pass you can see plain as day the guy from Ravenwood is slamming his head into the turf repeatedly (very similar to the Sidney Crosby/PK Subban play from last year's NHL Finals).

I challenge anyone to dispute that claim.  It shows up on the film plain as day.  It was among the dirtiest I've ever witnessed at any level.

Apparently there is an official shortage that had pressed some lesser quality / experienced personnel into the games. I understand it’s a hard job and typically I don’t complain about them, but this year has been bad at times.  Especially with letting games get too chippy as you site above.

    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
    • Could not agree more. After this year, McKenzie's new coach will have their work cut out for them. Staying in 1A would definitely be a huge plus. Most years there is not much difference in the top 5- 1A and 2A teams across the state, but after the top 5 or so there is normally a huge drop off for 1A. Regular season region play is a lot easier for 1A in West TN  right now.
