KWC....do you have an updated list of the kids at WH that have received and or have accepted offers to play college football? This would be 2018 group including Juniors and Sophomores. It would be much appreciated....and congrats on another outstanding year for the Tigers.

MLREB:

Currently, I don't have an updated list. During the summer the current team had about 17 before the season started. That number included some Juniors and a sophomore.

Let me get back to you on that in a day or two.

Thank you KWC.....and Merry Christmas to you and yours. I look forward to your next post on this subject.

MLREB:

This isn't the full list. We won't know that until February 6 through April 1. However, WH did have five (5) sign in the early signing period today.

Thank you kwc.....one additional request. I think you had this running list previously that included underclassman as well. I couldn't find it in this thread, but I may have missed it. Can you copy and paste the most recent list? Even if it goes back to the first of the Summer....that would be OK. Sorry to trouble you for this. There is a diner bet on this and I am getting hungry.

Thanks

That list would be in this thread or the other thread I created in the General Football forum concerning Recruits from Memphis. I'll go look.

The total, to date, is seven players to sign LOIs. Add Dr, Hunter's son,  Tyler, who singed a LOI to attend Moorehouse, and Jacobi Rice, who signed a LOI to attend the Naval Academy. Add those two to the five (5) who signed in the early signing period, and that gets you to seven. Stay tuned.

Add OL Courtney Sharp and OL Jerimiah James to the list of Class of 2018 - 2019 Whitehaven football players to sign a LOI to play football in college next season. Both at Bethel U. That now makes the running total, to date, to be 9. Stay tuned, there may be more to come.

    • From my understanding, Jay Graham pretty much took over HC responsibilities in that game, so you can thank him. Cute Andy didn’t need help, though. Cute Andy could’ve beaten us without any assistant coaches.
    • Tax payer dollars are paid for certified teachers to "teach" and then coach. The primary job is to teach.  There are some district that ay awesome supplements and others that don't. Dyersburg and Dyer County are pretty close if I remember correctly. I would imagine that Football and basketball are above $10,000 now.  I've heard that Milan is $20,000 for boys basketball. I would imagine that football is more than that in Milan.  Collierville has camps that coaches get paid extra for. 3 camps a year, 100 kids a camp, $30,000 right there.  There are places like Memphis-Shelby County schools where the supplements are garbage even for the head coaches. I made less than $3,000 as the head assistant at Germantown in 2015 when we were 26-4 and one of the best teams in the Southeast. As a head middle school coach next year I will make between $4-5,000 at a municipal in Shelby County.  Coaches should be compensated for the jobs that are required but lets keep in mind that they are educators first.  It's pretty frustrating to other teachers that work their tale off teaching 6-7 classes a day to watch someone roam campus, not teach (or have very minimal responsibilities), and get paid the same (more with supplements) as a person who has the some years of experience or sometimes less.
    • This will get coaches leaving the profession very quickly if this kid wins this case. This is absurd...
