Just wondered how the new coach at Dobyns Bennett is doing and how DB is going to be this year?  I know they have talent and wondered if the new system will be different from the past?  When do they open up the their season?

seen in paper where db split last night and scored 90 in the first game...sounds like a different team from years past

We played them in a scrimmage a few weeks ago and beat them by 7, I think. Look to be improved, although I wasn't there to see.

Correct. That's about 4 kids. Booker will probably be our best player. He's a football guy.

I don't know if the new coach will bring DB back to greatness or not. I thought with the tradition DB "had" they would aim higher when hiring a new coach. Its to early to tell but looks like this was an average hire. After Morgan there's only one way and that's up. So the bar is set pretty low. I guess we'll wait and see.

It's always the coaching with you.  Maybe the Big E can donate some money to the university of Kingsport and hire Nick Saban for football, and Coach K for basketball.

I went to the Science Hill/DB game Friday night. SH won 50-41. The Toppers held DB to just 7 pts in the 2nd half. From what I could tell, DB doesn't really look any better or worse than they did last year.

I have seen them once.  They are halfway to their win total from last year already.  Honestly though, it is too early to say anything one way or the other.  These are a lot of the same players from last year, so it will be a lot about getting them to buy into the new system and player development.

I'll be honest and it's not excuses for DB but the trip to the bahamas takes a lot out of a team.  They played 5 games in 4 days with the pace of play and physicality of the games a lot quicker and tougher than America.  They've looked good this year at times
