Monterey Falls to Van Buren in O.T. Was not there but heard it was a great game!

Clay travels to Van Buren tonight. Should be a close game considering both teams played last night.

Just saw on the score board VB beat Clay 80-64. Could possibly play again in the region.

Clay Co pulled all starters with 5:45 left in 4th quarter.  Van Buren did not sub at all played starters until final buzzer. Didn’t think Coach Sullivan was that classless. This shows a lot of disrespect to Coach Edwards and his team.   Coach Edwards has had lots of times against Van Buren that he could have run the score up and didn’t. Bet that want happen again.

I don't have a clue what you are talking about. It was a 13 point game with 3 minutes left when Edwards called his last timeout. After that timeout we got two baskets off steals then played keep away the last 2 minutes. Nothing at all classless about that. At least we weren't throwing alley oops up by 20+ like Edwards did to us at Celina two years ago. Coach Sullivan is all class as is Coach Edwards.  Neither would disrespect another team or coach but both are going to make sure they do what's best for their teams first. If you want to complain about last nights game, complain about the refs. Neither team got to play their starters in the first half because of them.

You’re not serious are you? There are times in the past where I’ve watched Edwards keep his starters in while up 20-30 on Van Buren. Trying to make a story out of nothing. YOU should be ashamed of yourself.

The refs were definitely trigger happy in the 1st half against both teams. Glad it wasn't as bad in the 2nd. As far as VB trying to run the score up against Clay in the end, that wasn't the way I seen it.   Clay actually had their best scoring quarter in the 4th, which was 22 points versus VB's 19.

Let’s just say we are not going to agree.  But one thing you said that is and understatement refs were as bad as I have seen in years. Both ways when your best players aren’t aloud to play somethings wrong.  Hate to see to good teams not able to play because of the refs. Refs could send a good team home during tournament time.

Nothing was said about running the score up. Just that when Sullivan didn’t sub at all left starters in the whole game when Edwards had taken his out.

VanBuren County has the best team in this region and quite possibly the state in Class A. Caden Mills is a great player and his surrounding cast isn’t to shabby either.  It’s imperative to get on the opposite side of VB for the region tournament as I feel like our 3rd place team can win on the road. You don’t want to go to Spencer for a first round game. Not this year anyways.  District 6A tournament will be worth the price of admission as there are some really good teams that won’t make it to the region tournament. District 5A is weak outside of VB. Those other teams couldn’t win a game over here.  VB is beatable on a neutral floor. VB has beaten all of the teams it faced from District 6A in the regular season. We shall see what happens in a week or so when it counts. A Pickett County/VanBuren match up would be pretty exciting to watch.

I hope to see a Van Buren/Monterey rematch! The last game in OT was a great game! Monterey/Pickett on a neutral floor should be a great game also!
