so how many Sparty thinkin Spartys red raiders gonna throttle the Irish by next week.......sure hopin it ant no repeat of last year

Booger just sayin

If there ever was a year for ND to beat Baylor it is this one. Baylor lost a lot and ND returns a lot. Should be a good one. Not confident picking either way.

So nothing from the ECS side huh? Nothing to expect or look for?

Posted a bit about them on another thread, but I expect ECS to be the surprise on the west side of the state. They return a decent amount and another year in the system will do them wonders. Will they beat Webb Thursday? Possibly, but I have no idea what to expect from Webb this year. I see ECS finishing 2nd in the region behind Lausanne

we now have a HC coach from out there that has coached gainst them for a while.....was actually thinkin DC for ECS for a while....says ECS should be very decent...

....ECS contain the lightnin bug to only a few break aways and they win...man above has given that young man very very special speed...Haslams boys have nothin else to offer....ECS line will have very little resistance....not sure yet Booger can pull for the Eagles

Webb actually has a little more than that. So far 3 guys with D1 offers.

Now as far as the line...we will have to see Haha.

It’s game day! Can Webb block well enough up front to let the speedsters do their thing or will ECS have the answer for the wing-t?. Last time these teams met I believe it was in the State-Semfinals. A game Webb was able to pull out. ECS last win in the series was the 2005 state championship game when they blanked Webb 26-0. Webb got revenge the next year beating ECS 17-14 for the 2006 State Championship. Lots of history for these schools on opposite sides of the state. Should be a fun one at Vanderbilt.

well wow ecs won 13-10. What happend tonight webb fans? How did yalls running back do?

Same story as last year. Line struggling to open up holes for the backs. After scoring on the very first play Webb led 10-0 at half and the second half ECS just wore down a defense that was on the field almost the entire game.

    • Lee would have been a good choice, also.  I'm sure Benny was involved with the decision.
    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
