Fulton @ Bearden

Great game tonight at Bearden. Bulldogs won in OT 67-60. I would love to see a 7 game series between these two teams. Fulton was up 7 at halftime and 14 at one point in the 2nd half. Bearden battled back behind Trent Stephney. I was very impressed with #14 for Fulton, Lacy. He brought it on D, handled pressure, made plays on offense when he needed to. Anybody else there?

I was there. Bearden has a habit of starting off slow, regardless of of who they play most of the time. I guess they need to be pushed. Very physical game as well. The refs were really trying to take control over the game, a few technical fouls for celebration/taunting and there seems to a fair share of offensive fouls. Ques hit some key shots down the stretch, as did Trent. Fulton lacks size, but didn't seem to matter since Pember (6'8") was sidelined with fouls and Ketterl (6'7") didn't start and play too much. Those guys are shot blocking machines.

I thought halfway through the game what a bad matchup it was for Bearden ... a team just as quick or quicker and not intimidated at all by Bearden.   And I thought the press and 4th Q wouldn't work for Bearden, but I was wrong.  They live and die by Glover and Stephney, and shots weren't falling in 1st half, but they sure were in 2nd.  I think Shemarcus for Bearden did a ton of good work for Bearden as did #44 for Fulton when he wasn't in foul trouble.  Sloppy play but great high intensity game.  Really fun game to watch and good crowd from both sides.

    • Well, your Big Western Hunt better turn up some Zebras to come graze on the Stones to make the jungle gametime ready again and make sure the plumber bros. still will come service the facilities at the Mecca. I hope your weekend is Fowl. Tell Rip hello from the Five Oh. Maybe the Gravedigger will catch a ride with Alphaniner on a flyover soon to BNA.
    • It’s not hearsay, just patently false. As one of those young coaches he apparently “ran off”, coach never once ridiculed or degraded anyone. Sure he challenged kids and coached them very hard,  but we have different definitions of you call that degrading. Coach Hammontree changed my life when he gave me the chance to work for him. I learned more about being a man and caring for the people around me in 4 years working for him than I did in 20 years of my life. No one sacrificed more than he did. I left Heritage because I felt there would never be the support necessary to help the program succeed. I’m tired of hearing people drag others down especially those they truly don’t know. Coach has moved on and a new coach is there. Just let the man live and root for the team.
    • Waiting on the Great One.   White Horse and Rip have a big weekend in the woods, and the Sheriff is working the overtime here.      Turkey season awaits…..Big Gobblers everywhere.
