Memphis,

Are others in Memphis leaving the Lobos for BUSA and TSC's ECNL?

It does seem the best way to give the girls an early look at college level soccer.  UTC got at least 3 ECNL players in the 2018 class and has at least 4 committed for the 2019 class.  It certainly should make a difference.

I really don't know - too far removed from it.

It seems there may have been some consolidation in local clubs - which I view as positive for the players.

I noticed three kids from Lobos at UTC.  Great for TN kids to have this as a competitive, in-state option.  Should turn out to be a reasonably priced college education for the families.

Molly Martin from ECS, now at Ole Miss, played for BUSA.

Our daughter played for BUSA the first (and second) year of the ECNL.  It was the best decision we ever made for a variety of reasons.  Overall, the exposure was exceptional and the style of play was better preparation for college.  If UTC is pulling some players from the ECNL, they should continue to improve.

Who was her coach at BUSA? Faith played for Andrew Brower and we kicked ourselves for not doing it sooner. He was great. The team was comparable to her TSC team but the style of play and competition were college like.

Andrew B was her coach.  Quality individual.

That guy is hilarious too. Heard him scream "you are literally taking a dump on the field". He also begged the center ref to red card him so he wouldn't have to watch his team play anymore.

BUSA does a great job training their athletes them promoting them. It's considerably better than TSC in that regard.

Players,

It appears UTC has picked up yet another high school superstar for their 2018 class.  Coach McKinney certainly seems to be building momentum.

Gonna come to the UTC vs TTU match on Sunday April 15th. I heard UTC has some injuries so we don't have any expectations. We may spend the night Saturday and just take our time in the city looking around.

Let me know if you guys are going to the game, or if your friend is, so Faith can meet your kids.

    • Quick update on Jacob -  Jacob celebrated his 16th birthday at Vanderbilt on Tuesday and has been in decent spirits.  His sense of humor has begun to show as he was visited by many friends.  He is swallowing a lot better now and has eaten some of his favorites (Chik-Fil-A and Five Guys).   He is getting prepared to head to Atlanta to the Shepherd Center first thing tomorrow morning.  His family has been waiting on insurance approval. In case you dont know the Shepherd Center it a world class facility and supposedly one of the best in the country for spinal injury rehab.  Praying for perfect results there. Considering the circumstances, Jacob is in decent spirits.  He has some reflexive movement in his legs which I think is probably a very positive sign.  Don't read too much into that just yet as there is no telling what the real prognosis is... just hopeful that is good thing.  I am really just happy that it seems like he has a punchers chance of getting something back.  He is a strong young man and very determined so I think he will fight as hard as he can in physical therapy while down in Atlanta. More than one of you has asked me about an address to send donations.  I know GoFundMe isn't for everyone.  If you want to go that route, you can make a check to "Blackman Wrestling Club" and we will pass anything received directly to the Kinderdines.   Jacob Kinderdine c/o Blackman Wrestling 4836 Trevino Court Murfreesboro, TN  37128 Also, want to thank everyone who has donated so far.  Jacobs dad will take a month off work and stay in Atlanta with him.  They need to learn how to take care of him and do home therapy work..... and surely Jacob will be glad his dad can be there.  All that could not happen without you all.  Depending on what happens, they will probably end up doing some home remodeling in order to accommodate Jacob at their home.  Thanks again. Here's a pic I lifted from Facebook of Jacob on Oxy talking to his Uncle.  LOL

    • Science Hill has had a lot of athletes over the years as well.     I totally agree with you
    • You do know that on a young, down season we only lost to Dyersburg in the playoffs by less than a touchdown?! You act like those two teams are unbeatable and way above our skill level
