Any idea of the lowest age group usually at the TN tournaments? I've had some interest from parents of my younger kids in our club but didn't want to get them excited for something and then them not be able to compete. Also, will there be a separate Girls division? Thanks in advance!

The Ironman on April 14 will have a kids division in all 3 styles.

Typically,  not very many little kids.  If there are, they are usually grouped with 1 or 2 weight classes. Good mat time,  but for most kids they wrestling kids way bigger or smaller. Until numbers in the youth are higher, I recommend traveling to surrounding states where numbers are alot higher. Indiana, Georgia and I believe NC has very good numbers for youth.  Not sure why our participation in the youth is so poor, because TN has a great group of young kids.

I appreciate the response! That's kind of what I was expecting, but wanted to get a solid answer to give to my parents. I have had a decent amount of interest in it and just didn't want them to get to invested or their hopes up just yet.

Thank you for your interest in Tennessee USA Wrestling. The youth level wrestling at our tournaments have been growing every year but if you look back through track you will see we do our best to ensure every single wrestler get as many matches as possible. We always will go out of our way to make all levels of wrestler have an amazing experience through out each style. To be more specific Bantam is the age group that most wrestlers start picking up the international styles, Schoolboy is where they start to get serious, and the Cadet level is right now our largest group of wrestlers a the TWF Tournaments. As of yet we do not separate the woman from the men, but we can, a round robin option or formal exhibitions can be arranged for at any of our tourneys.

Again thank you for your time, please call me with any questions.

Thank you for the response! That definitely helps to clarify and will help me be able to answer questions for my parents. Looking forward to a great Freestyle & Greco season!
