According to a newspaper source up this way the official hiring will happen Wednesday for MC coach.  He also informed me that the Knox Cath.  job is down to one lady from middle tn and a coach from NC.  Dominos will start falling soon.

so who does everyone have going to MC now?

I was informed by source inside Catholic that her resume is in for the job. Don’t blame her wanting to get back close to home. Maybe she could turn them around.

I heard the same last week that the MC girls' coach was wanting the Knox Catholic job to get back closer to her home town. I guess we will see.

Oh wow. If she does leave, who ever gets the MC job will have some work to do, but if they do it the right way, they will have a ton of support.

A ton of support?  Isn't this the same school that recently let the head football, head boys basketball, and head girls basketball coaches go all in the same year?  Over some made up bull about tenure?

No. I think that was what was said for the girls coach, Coach Slatten, and the football coach at the time, but not the boys coach, Coach King. He was there for a long time since back before I saw him coach there in 2003. I understand that doesnt really look good, but this little town always shows up for its girl's basketball games. I have heard about the people there in the community coming in and getting there seats set up at 3:30 for a 6 pm game. They really do love their basketball there. That is what I was meaning. Are there issues there, I would bet that there are, but they do support their girls basketball team.

Win! That is what’s expected. Not titles. Just win. For this little town that has been successful so many years in different sports but still can’t get new facilities to show support and respect for the future that comes through. Just win!!

    • Why would the tax payers be responsible for paying for only a coach? In recent years with all the theft from various programs in schools from different programs with booster clubs (not just sports) the State of TN has made alot of rules surrounding booster clubs and how they handle money.  I have two documents to review, 1 is 40 pages from the state comptroller and the other is 37 pages from my district, so I can consider starting a booster club for my middle school program. It has been too much trouble in the past for the other coaches.  There is no way there needs to be an adult in the school building for 7 hours a day with no responsibilities except coaching.
    • The only thing that was said at half time of the 45-0 game was Coach Story, he said: "I know y'all have been out there a lot, but kick-off team, y'all need to get down there faster!" Then he and the other coaches proceeded to go into the coaches office and we all went nuts!  It was the only time I can ever remember coaches not saying anything at half time. Definitely a great memory!!!
