Crazier than that is the fact it was 8-4 Macon at the end of the 1st. They scored 0 the second quarter.

crow6424
I tried to tell everyone after the championship that Upperman’s young talent runs deep.

Upperman has great talent and Macon too has great talent. That is about as far as a comparison goes. Upperman knows how to pass the ball, take good shots and most of all play team ball. That was evident tonight. They had multiple players contribute to a winning outcome. Macon, on the other hand, has two players (Gregory and Carter) trying to out do the other in fear that they won’t be the point leader by the last tic of the 4th quarter. Neither player passes the ball out to the open guards, they both drive in and shoot crazy garbage shots, and play “me” ball. Sure they both are the ones that have all the points, but that is because they shoot every singe time down the floor, whether they are open or not. Gregory’s percentage is one of, if not the worst on the team. She shoots on average 25 to 30 shots per game, making far less than 20% of her shots from the floor. Tonight looked like backyard ball... uncoordinated and aweful similar to a pickup team. Everything on paper, EVERYTHING points to this year’s Macon team being the state champion, but reality is this year’s team is a fraction of what they were. Individuals don’t win at this level without a supporting cast. Until Coach White gets control of his players, this team will have wasted talent left on the floor, and no gold ball to show for it. Hurst and the rest of Upperman’s team wiped the floor with them tonight, and White got outcoached. No college coach will touch the drama that these two players are putting on the court. So sad. It was definitely not team basketball!
Dadof2
It’s hard to win against good teams when you don’t play team ball. That’s why I think Meigs has a chance this year, they play 8 girls. in most games all 8 scored, In several games 4 to 5 are in double figures, but the team is built around defense. MCFAN3
MC had a poor shooting night. Keeley couldn’t get nothing to fall for her last night and we couldn’t hit the three ball when we had a chance. Not scoring in the second quarter really hurt our chances. Got one more chance before the district tournament. Hopefully our girls ain’t as nervous as they were last night.
Dexter10
I guess Upperman owns Macon co that’s 15 in a row Didn’t see last night coming Cannon was tied with Upperman after 3 quarters and we got out coached to
mofojoe
Macon better quit worry about pleasing a few and start playing team ball. I AM A LITTLE shocked this has been allowed.

Box score, one player scored 15, the other 11 for total of 26 points. 6 players played but the entire offense ran through only two players. That's a recipe for disaster. As what was said in a earlier post No team play what so ever. Macon might as well play the old style of girls basketball. Two on the offense end. And the others breaking their necks on the other end playing defense. Two players taking shots out of control . Taking shots before they would pass to a open team mate There is no I in team but MC has two I’s in team. Agree, but it all falls to the coach. Team ball is taught, not genetic. He should have sat those two a bit and played the next best five for a bit and let the two stars chill. I mean could it have been any worse than 8 points?
