East won state 1969. Truth be known Morristown won state 1969. That was first year of school split. Didn't matter where you lived if you were a junior or a senior and played football you went to MoEast. Half of that team should have been at West if you went by current standards. The powers that be knew what they had and weren't about to let the school split stop them.

You maybe on to something, why do we have two high schools anyway? With one big high school we would bring the whole town back together. The biggest benefits would be taxes payers money would be able to be spend on hiring more teachers, improving advance classes, and helping kids learn English when that is not there 1st language. I am sure it cost a lot of money keeping two high schools going. What about the saving in overhead cost like reducing the number of assistant Principals and cutting out one Principal all together. What about increasing our teacher pay? I know there pay is way behind other city simpler to Morristown. I would like to know what other people think.

Back when I was in HS 05-09 playing in the IMAC  was probably  one of the toughest conferences in the state. MoWest and MoEast  have really fell  off from what they used to be BIG time. If they had one Morristown  team I'd say they would have 2 or 3 Gold Balls.

MoEast, MoWest, and Jeff will take big hits in all sports from Lakeway Academy. The facilities and coaching staff are going to be excellent.

FYI the state championship won by East was actually won by Morristown that was 2nd year of schools being split there was no varsity program at West half of state championship team would be zoned as West now
