SAC
Thought Flynn was a Maryland guy now? I was always under the impression that spots won at regions just increased the number of potential participants from that state. Seeing as how we don't use all of our allocations not sure it matters. Regardless, congrats the aforementioned... Good to see guys having success. Really like their corner man. #GOHAWKS

durdon
So Bowers according to what you just posted: The Following kids are automatic Qualifiers for Fargo.. Chittum -both Cooper-both Emory - Both Whiteside - Greco Will Taylor - Both (he placed in UWW event and we were told that the UWW Pan Am Trials would be seeded to 4 and count just like UWW National event for automatic qualifiers and criteria separation) Whiteside - Greco so all of these kids became an automatic qualifiers for Fargo this weekend and they won’t count against TN total allotment of wrestlers we can take to Fargo, correct? Now what you posted also says that all of the automatic qualifiers must still adhere to all individual state association policies. Does the TWF have any policies in place that will prevent kids that go out and earn an automatic bid from USA Wrestling from going to Fargo? durdon
Ok Ben, let highlight the next paragraph in what you just posted this time...Because if you actually follow the paragraphs it is very clear that the qualifications that are in place by USA Wresting give special status to the kids that earn Automatic Qualifier Status. There is a reason why USAWRESTING says that these kids SHALL BE AUTOMATIC QUALIFIERS! What do you think the words AUTOMATIC QUALIFIER MEANS??? WHY DOES USAWTRESTLING USE THE TERM AUTOMATIC QUALIFIER? IS TWF not going to honor the Automatic Qualifier status of the kids that have earned it? YES OR NO BOWERS???? If the TWF is not going to honor the Automatic Qualifier status then what TWF policy must the Automatic Qualifiers meet to gain their bid to Fargo from the TWF? and what is the purpose of that policy. And understand Ben, that when my son went to pick up his UWW Team Trial medal he was wearing a PA wresting shirt, the USA PA State rep gave him a PA Wrestling Fargo Packet and told him congratulations you have earned a spot on the PA Fargo Team. So If we lived in PA, my son would be able to go to Fargo with PA and not have to go to their state tournament or compete in a SINGLE PA event. NOT A SINGLE ONE. The last time a checked PA was just a little bit better at wrestling that TN and they actually send a full roster of kids to Fargo unlike the 15 kids that TN sends every year. So, PA and pretty much every other state in the country honors the USA Wrestling Automatic Qualifier status but you been telling people that the TWF won't? Explain Why?? HOW IS MAKING THE BEST KIDS IN OUR STATE JUMP THROUGH HOOPS TO GET TO FARGO WHEN THEY HAVE EARNED THE AUTOMATIC QUALIFIER STATUS FROM USAWRESTING HELPING TO GROW THE SPORT IN OUR STATE??? TN USA Wrestling will follow all qualification in place by USA Wrestling. Twofdr
Okay....come on... It is crystal clear....just wrestle in the darn State tourney and stop the whining. He has highlighted his position in red, multiple times....you have stated yours... Scott, the point is clear...it’s not your call! You want it to be your call...try take his position. I get his position, and I get your point, but truthfully...why not just wrestle in the darn tourney. Beating a dead horse, at this point....no matter how right you “think” you are...you just don’t/can’t trump his “highlighted red” point. Great Greco performance by Em....very impressive. Rasslinking
I think that's the issue......hes making it HIS position. He seems very personal. Maybe not, maybe he's got good intentions. Just CALL HIM for goodness sake.
facenthecrowd
It is hard to follow all of this; however, what if the wrestler has other plans the weekend of the State Tournament and can not wrestle that weekend? I would hope this would not disqualify them from wrestling at Fargo. Again, I do not understand the rules, however, I hope that a wrestler who wrestled in a Region and qualified for Fargo will be allowed to wrestle even if they can't wrestle in the state. Not taking a side here, hope it works out for all so that we can get as many to Fargo if they want to go.
Rasslinking
Would need a special exemption from the board, doesn't matter if we had a kid ranked #1 in the country.
Twofdr
Ben has seemed to make it clear...at least to me...that if there is a “legit” reason the kid can’t make it...just let him know 5-10 days ahead of time. Somehow, people have been giving the impression that Ben, and the board, are out to screw kids over....I just don’t get where this is coming from? It has never been my experience. I get that it may “ appear” to be “power play” thing by an individual....but, I also think some of the complaining is just wild speculation. If you know your kid can’t make it to State Tourney....reach out now...let them know why...if you get a response that you can’t live with...THEN, get back to the site and fill us in. AT this point, this wild speculation is just that...speculation. Edited April 24, 2018 by Twofdr
