Well, looks like we are headed to Tornado Alley.  I won't lie.....the Oneida team Alcoa is facing is a very beat up group and injuries continue to pile up.  With 19 players on the team, the depth is getting razor thin.  To date, the Indians have suffered broken foot, broken collarbone, broken foot, blown knee, heat exhaustion (since returned), intestinal injury, and player left the team.  Those are not exaggerations or excuses....we will definitely show up and play Saturday.  The boys that are still fit to play have shown a ton of heart.  CG can tell you we just keep at it and we won't quit.

I look forward to standing with the boys....they should be admired for their resolve.  Win or lose won't crack the intensity of this team's play.  Have all the respect in the world for Alcoa....they have always been a respected program.

Look me up Saturday night. I like to meet folks from Coach T. I am the keeper coach for Alcoa. I am also the only coach in a shoulder sling (rotator cuff). Up until this year we were in the same District with Oneida, they are a quality program supported by fine people!

Go Tornados!!

We all appreciate the history of East TN soccer but does anyone have info about what Nashville or Memphis area games are worth a watch?

Hendersonville/Brentwood and Station Camp/Overton will both be exciting. Stratford/Central and MLK/Fairview will also be good

Both should be very competitive. HHS beat Station Camp at home in OT 3-2 with only 10 men for the final 50 minutes. They will be a challenge at home for Brentwood.

Overton surprised Brentwood and won their Regional for the first time in about a decade in a tight defensive game down to the final few minutes. They will be very positive of their possibilities.

Fun weekend whichever side of Nashville you choose to go.

Well done Bucs. Good Luck to Woods, Otero and the rest of  the crew! Hope to be there on Wednesday to watch.

And thanks a lot for letting us play on your turf field Thursday for the CSAS & SM region final.  We appreciate you sharing your blessings.

Ask the kids, in soccer Turf equals a curse from below. Apologies if you were speaking in jest.

This time I was serious because due to weather our other option was a swamp.  I agree that most times grass is better but when you have to play in the wet south having a turf option and people willing to share their facilities is nice.

As a side note Boyd's field literally sat in a swamp behind a flood levee so turf was really their best option even if they weren't competing with other private's in the area for "best facilities" which may very well prove to be a misnomer for players health even with the new generation of turf.

Thanks my friend. So Houston should take care of CLarksville and Kingsbury of rockview?

Well first,  it’s Rossview. Not rockview. And second, who said anything about that? Are you assuming because these games weren’t mentioned that they will be pushovers? I assure you they will not.  Rossview takes care of Kingsbury, and Clarksville I think falls in a tight one with Houston. Speaking of games not mentioned, Merrol Hyde and CSAS should be exciting as well. I’ll take the Hawks. Columbia Acad. vs Madison will also be a good one. I think Madison wins there. I think  Cookeville beats Columbia and Blackman beats Rhea. That’s all the Nashville area games id have any insight on

Both should state tournament caliber games. Something tells me Hville and SC get it done. Wouldn’t be surprised if one or both needed OT to decide it.  Hville hasn’t been to state since the title run in 2010 I believe. And SC are the defending champs. But HHS has peaked at the right time. And SC is always dangerous. Both want this very badly. Both games will be exciting. Wish they’d stream one so I could watch both

First let me say, fine analysis by you all, seriously knowing even just one thing about all these schools is impressive.  I’m a Rossview Alum and former assistant.  Honestly I was hoping to slowplay some Info on Kingsbury this season. I cannot find hardly anything about Kingsbury this season it’s like only poor results are posted. No hits on the local paper either.  Either way I’m confident the boys can make the jump to State, we’ve been on the brink since 05 when I played.  We had to go through Hville and Brentwood back in their hey day. Enough on the  glory days. I’ve seen Houston they’re real good, crisp quick passes on an average pitch.  Kingsbury has a strong history in other sports but I’d love to have any last minute intel on them before kickoff.

Good luck to CHS as well, I know they’re fighters.  Two teams from Clarksville in State would be impressive considering talent Is traditionally split between schools

    • QUICK UPDATE -  First, I see a lot of wrestling names that I recognize on that GoFundMe.  THANK YOU so much for helping this family.   After the long surgery on Sunday morning to repair his neck, Jacob suffered a collapsed lung.  Sometimes this happens after long surgeries.  They had to put him on a ventilator to get his breathing back on track.  He came off the vent on Monday morning and they put a BIPAP on him to help control his breathing.  As of today, Thursday, the BIPAP came off and he is breathing well on his own.  He is working towards drinking a glass of water and hopefully eating some solid food at some point in the near future. Jacob can "feel" when someone touches his legs, but there is still no movement.  His parents are beginning to prepare for him to be moved to the Shepherd Center in the next few days.  He will be there in Atlanta for 30-45 days.  Im sure he will receive excellent treatment. Please continue to pray for healing for him and if you are so moved, please contribute to the gofundme link above to help in any way you can.  The go fund me is doing well, but this is going to be a very long road for these guys Im afraid.. Thanks again! Sells
