As summer camps come to a close, who looked good this summer? Any surprises?

I saw a few of the area teams this summer. Granted it was summer  camp and lost of teams had parts and pieces missing. I liked Gibson County who I saw a couple of times and probably looked as good as I saw this spring. Southside has a pretty good group of girls with a very good guard. Chester County has a young lady that was shooting the lights out but I am not sold on her because of behavior on the floor. Dyer County looked good in spurts but was without key pieces. USJ looked ok. Lexington looked better than what I saw last year. Dyersburg seemed pretty well coached. Others I saw were not so good but that's what summer ball is for. To get better.

Can't go much on summer team camps, but one surprise with what they lost from last season I'm hearing is how good Peabody looked this summer. Heard they played a ton of games, won a ton, and beat some really good teams. I was told their pressure defense might look better than it ever has with any group. That would be saying a lot. I was able to see them one day at Gleason and they beat 2 very good teams that day by 10+ and totally destroyed another team that is usually average. From talking to Coach Hart, he seems very excited about this team and happy with where they are at right now.

I saw Trenton on a play day in the spring. Looked pretty good then. They beat a good team from Arkansas and then lost to Dyer County by like 2 or 3 in a really good game. Both teams pressed and played really hard, Was impressed with quickness of Trenton.  Did not see them again during the summer though. They were a good team last year and seem to be on a good track for the up coming season.

Loretto had a good summer.  They had to play some tough teams and showed they will be a team to reckon with.  They beat some really good teams in Huntingdon, Gleason, Dresden, and Crockett County at the Bethel camps.  Their only loss was to a very good Lexington, and that was by 5.  I thought the play of our returning players was very good.  The young lady that stood out was the freshman point guard.  She will be a Miss Tennessee before she's finished.  District and region will be tough again, but this team has the makings of being able to do some special things.
