Too soon to start football !!

I love football,but starting 7 weeks before first game is a bit much. 4 weeks is plenty of time. 7 on 7 has become a sport itself.

That seems to be way a lot think. I bet some of the great teams John Tucker coached at MIlan would disagree.

I just do not see the need for this much time to prepare for a football season. I played also and 4 weeks was plenty of time.

We keep in year round on 825 Lawrence Ave. Even our feeder programs are starting earlier this year. As Stars would put it, "Mebbe that will hep us holt offt" those Middle Tennessee programs a few more years...

First games are August 17th, 6 weeks out, and the first 2 weeks are TSSAA mandated non-contact heat acclimation practices. So in essence there are only 4 weeks of actual padded practice. See what I did there.

7 weeks?   HA, there are coaches in this state that have players doing 'something' all year long.  They may not be out in pads and hitting, but you can bet coaches like Rankin has them either doing 'agilities' and/or lifting/endurance all year long!

Most of these teams have one thing in common, either silver and or Gold balls in their trophy cases.

Truth.  But the "coaches with Gold Balls in their trophy cases" let their kids play other sports, too, or at least the ones in East Tennessee do.  They are just responsible for getting their football work done when they can do it.
