Dickson rolls into the bears den today for a very stiff test.  Brentwood v. Hillsboro and Ravenwood v. Dickson County with the championship game to follow at Brentwood High School.  I expect Brentwood to beat Hillsboro but I have no idea how the second game will go but I'm looking forward to it.  Personally, I want to see Brentwood v Dickson in the championship.  Good luck to all the ladies.

People have doubted Ravenwood from the beginning. If you remember, they did the same thing last year. The coach gives the girls a summer and they take a little longer to get rolling. They are finally all healthy and have taken sets from Brentwood the last two times they have played.

Agreed, but Coach Campbell made an adjustment after they lost the first set.  She started her left handed freshman the next three sets and that opened up the game for Brentwood.  Ravenwoods's blocks where amazing in the first set but never seemed to replicate that the next three sets.  That was the biggest difference between the first set the next three.

I was there last night. The Brentwood setter does not get enough credit. On this thread, in the media coverage, talking to folks in the gym, all the attention goes to Shay and the defenders, and they are good, no question. And TT you often make the point that the left handed kid is a difference-maker. But there is no way that team is where it is without Tori. She made some choices that were the difference last night. She is steady, she puts up a consistent ball, and keeps the younger kids around her from getting crazy. She is that team's MVP.

100% agree.  Trust me when I say this, Tori Carpenter is THE BEST SETTER IN THE STATE and nobody from Brentwood takes that for granted.  She runs that offence.

Tori is def the key part of that team.  So very good-certainly best setter in the state.  I haven't heard much about AAA out East this year.  Dobbins Bennett has a great record, but that doesn't mean too much.  Anyone seen them play?   I think it will be Ravenwood, Brentwood, Siegel, in the final 4.  Who will be the 3rd team?  Houston? DB?   It will be interesting to see how Station Camp/Lebanon look against WIlco.  I think they both lose, but the will be interesting to see if Station Camp can keep it close at all.

I have not seen Tori play, but Kailey Keeble, setter from Heritage, is unreal. She had a triple triple... 23 kills, 23 assists and 23 digs in tonights sub-state, and I would argue the top setter in the state. Playing for UT next year and setter for K2’s 18 Jota that took 5th at AAU’s last year.

I saw Station Camp play a couple of times, but hadn't really factored them into the mix so good for them! Especially cool that they won 3 in a row after being down two! They have a 6'4 outside who is a potential D1 prospect (bball too I believe) and their right side is already a D1 beach commit. Happy to see them make it through.

The rest of the AAA group not much a surprise I don't think.

    • QUICK UPDATE -  First, I see a lot of wrestling names that I recognize on that GoFundMe.  THANK YOU so much for helping this family.   After the long surgery on Sunday morning to repair his neck, Jacob suffered a collapsed lung.  Sometimes this happens after long surgeries.  They had to put him on a ventilator to get his breathing back on track.  He came off the vent on Monday morning and they put a BIPAP on him to help control his breathing.  As of today, Thursday, the BIPAP came off and he is breathing well on his own.  He is working towards drinking a glass of water and hopefully eating some solid food at some point in the near future. Jacob can "feel" when someone touches his legs, but there is still no movement.  His parents are beginning to prepare for him to be moved to the Shepherd Center in the next few days.  He will be there in Atlanta for 30-45 days.  Im sure he will receive excellent treatment. Please continue to pray for healing for him and if you are so moved, please contribute to the gofundme link above to help in any way you can.  The go fund me is doing well, but this is going to be a very long road for these guys Im afraid.. Thanks again! Sells
