The only reason you guys aren’t recruiting now is because the rules say you can’t give “academic scholarships” to athletes.   What about prior to the rule change did athletes have academic scholarships ?   It doesn’t really matter now but if you guys didn’t do that most other teams did and tssaa made d2. Tssaa didn’t just make d2 and change rules for no reason.  Don’t take this comment as me accusing you guys of recruiting because I know you guys follow the rules but that doesn’t mean everybody else does.

Well it was another great year men! Many questions are being asked for each team next season. Can Adamsville players with experience get them back to the promise land? Can GC keep moment from making the playoffs? Can McKenzie get away from the sleeper and be a hands down contender? Can Halls turn around from the bad year? Will Union City and Peabody stay at the top of the slobberknockers? Many questions are gonna be asked and they will be answered next year. We will miss our fine fellas from Trinity. 2018 season is in the books and it did not disappoint either. Looking forward to 19 with the best region in all of 2A..... and to add the gold ball is back home, not just in Trenton, but with the slobberknockers of region 7 2A

Well the season is so very far away y'all !!! What are the questions we have about our lil ole blue collar region !?

*Will G.C. be able to have continued success after graduated alot of great skill players ?

* Can Halls find a way to compete"they sure did long l,long ago" !

* Will Tha Ville return to prior glory from a very rare down year ?

* Will The Rebs stay middle of the pack or can they achieve what they are "very" capable of ?

* UC had a uncharacteristic season is this the new norm or a anomaly?

* Will Peabody  maintain the head of steam into the new season ??

    • Lee would have been a good choice, also.  I'm sure Benny was involved with the decision.
    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
