Mercy Rule

I thought it was 9, but tonight i had to remind a ref of mercy rule at goal number 8 and at 10-0 he finally ended the game. I also heard giles beat marshal 11-1. So did it get changed to 10 because the rule book says 9 goal difference

Mercy Rule does not apply until half time.  Can run up the score as much as you want before then.

Cobra is right.

 

At 5-0 it's a "running clock".

At HALF, if there is a 9 goal differential (at any time after the start of the second half), the game is over.

Great Maryville team. In the 8 years I have been coaching at Alcoa, this is the best Maryville girls side I have seen. I wish them luck and expect them to be in the boro!

I despise the new rule.  Teams gunning for 9 rather than emptying the bench.  It doesn't get reserves the playing time they need.

Yeah 9.  Teams need to get their scrubs in around 5 or so.  If the other team is that bad then they aren't coming back anyway.  I saw a team recently drub a team 9-0 and one girl scored 8 goals.  Why leave her in?  Then it came back on them, losing 0-9 themselves the next game.  "What goes around, comes around"  JT.

CONGRATS to SYCAMORE for being the first team to hang 13 on an opponent in the first half.  My $$ was on Greeneville to pull off this stunt.
