Every Year Weather Delays & Cancelled Games

Every year it seems in week 0 or week 1 there is some kind of bad weather that happens and games either get stopped or don't finish.Then the teams just decide to cancel the game.I hate when this happens.Both teams should be saddled with a loss.It happened last night with Chester County vs USJ.A 7-7 tie.What a waste.I'm from up North.This would not happen.Either you play the next day or even Saturday,Sunday or Monday or a forfeit happens to 1 or both schools.

The first thing that you need to understand is that we begin practice much to early in Tennessee and we start playing regular season games much to early.  Using the 2018 calendar I would suggest the following for high school football:

First Practice:  August 6

First Regular Season Game:  August 31

First Playoff Weekend:  November 9

State Championship Games:  December 1

There should not be a bye week for teams.  Play 10 consecutive weeks. Only 16 teams per classification make the playoffs.

Here here. Voice of reason, especially the 16 team playoff. How about lopping off a couple of classifications for the publics while we're at it.

I for one only feel we need four (4) classifications and that is if the publics and private are combined like they should be

Works for me.  Never happen with the money hungry T$$AA.

The myriad classifications and participants greatly dilute the playoffs.

But hey, more teams get trophies. Rah.
