Well Cannon County beat Red Boiling Springs by a score of 46-6.

I will have to say that Red Boiling Springs had a rough summer, is having numbers problems and will probably have a very rough year. They had a coaching change and got a late start on summer practices and scrimmages compared to most other teams.

I seen RBS scrimmage Station Camp's JV team a few weeks ago. I counted 17 players and the game ended in a 0-0 tie. I don't think they had a first down until the last drive of the game. They have no passing attack can pretty much just line up and run it every down. So yeah they are down.

With that said that is a significant win for Cannon County. Over a team that has beaten them in recent years. How much of that margin of victory is by Cannon County's improvement and how much is RBS being down?

It seem to remember thinking last year that Jackson County wasn't gonna be as good this year. That they were gonna have a young team with only a handful of Seniors and not alot of size.

Jackson Count beat Cannon County 20-19 last year. It looks like Cannon County got better and Jackson County took a step back. I'm gonna say Cannon County pulls it off again this week.

I just watched Cannon County vs RBS. I wouldn't put too much stock into that 46-6 score. RBS is terrible and by the end of the game were playing with 13 players and their best two players hurt on the bench.

Cannon County's offense barely got on the field. They scored on a blocked punt, an interception, a shanked punt return and had two other punt returns that put them inside the 20.

I can't see how RBS will win a game. I've seen them twice now and offensively its gonna be a run to the left 80-90% of the time. And teams will bring everybody once they see an attempted pass play. They can't throw anything more than a screen.

That said. I still like Cannon County in this game. They got some big kids up front and some decent athletes in the backfield.

Not just 2-0 but have outscored their opponents 88-6.... That is great news.

The bad news is that they have Sequatchie, Moore County, Upperman, York, Whitwell etc. coming up.

True. Maybe the boys from Woodbury can get at least one of those games..bumpy road ahead for CC.

    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
    • Are you trying to say you didn't find Seven and ShadySlim going at it?
    • hey goat! how’s monterey looking this year?!
    • several people actually. they said “snoball, do you know who railbird81 is on coacht?” I said, “never heard of her.” they said, “you ought to check it out they’re getting fired up on there like the old days.” well, you can imagine my disappointment when I came here expecting sharp, witty banter and all i found was more akin to toddlers slap fighting. and what looks like 1 guy/gal talking to themselves with multiple accounts.
