Still no coach at Grace

This is nuts!!!!!  who do they think they can find at this point. Obviously they do not take girls basketball serious at Grace anymore. Who is running that place.  Its a shame that a very good program is going down the tubes.  Wake up girls sports matter too!!!!

The entire athletic department seems to be in disarray. New AD, fired a state championship winning baseball coach and ran off Paul Pridemore which had done a great job running both the boys and girls programs not to mention a pretty successful football coach.

That place is a mess. The Grace pumpers may show up saying its all good, heading a great direction, blah blah blah, but that place is a mess and even the ones who are still there and honest with themselves would say the same thing. Going down hill at a record pace.

You are exactly right. I've heard the same thing from several parents. Tough to run an athletic program when you've got too many chiefs and not enough Indians. You've got people making athletic decisions based off ego. They've run off some excellent coaches! I'd hate to be the parent of a girl's basketballer. You see where they stand....

Good News. Grace Christian Academy Knoxville has hired a new girls head basketball coach.  She begins her new position today, Monday, Sept. 17.  Kendell McGill was hired recently and a press release was done by the school on Jessie Smithey's new website. 

Kendell is coming from Grainger HS where she was an assistant on a very successful basketball program for the past seven years. Former Head Grainger Basketball Coach Justin Combs has nothing but great things to say about her.  Coach McGill was a very important part of the programs success.  District and regional titles and state tournament appearances were common place during their seven years there at Grainger.  Coach McGill taught Biology and Ecology while at Grainger High.

Kendell has also been an assistant coach at Gibbs, Powell and King College. She is a nationally certified fitness instructor for high school athletes.

Coach McGill played her college basketball at Cleveland State and King College. Kendell was chosen captain of her team at both schools because of her hard work and leadership skills.  Her high school career was at Gibbs HS where she lettered in basketball, softball and cross country.  She led her high school basketball team in every category except rebounding. She earned Academic All-American Honors while playing basketball at King College.

Excellent hire for Grace.  Not sure how they landed such a quality coach so late in the game, but this is a winner!  I just hope she can shut out the chaos that will be surrounding her in the rest of the athletic program and do her thing.  Grace Christian should be on the rise!

Well Grace girls are off to a 1-6 start.  They have everyone returning from last year, should be better.  Maybe the HEAD people there are too involved in decision making on the court. Shame could be a great place but ego's and personal agenda's can bring a place down.
