Springfield vs White House

White House must limit the big play potential of the Jackets!! SHS has some skilled players with potential to make plays in the open field. Like I said yesterday, both teams struggle up front, at least compared to last year,  so it may very well come down to who wins that battle as to who wins the game. WH has to be able to run the ball with Sharber to have a chance; they can't become one-dimensional. Springfield will be looking for payback after last year's upset loss. I am personally looking forward to seeing a game from the new stadium at SHS, it'll be my first time!! Go Blue Devils.

Now that we’ve all got to know each others stance on here, what’s some keys to the game from both sides? Strengths and weaknesses, areas of improvement?

i think depth is springfields biggest weakness up front. I do believe we have had issues early with broken coverage but that seemed much better last game. Not sure on white house, have not seen them this year and they have not played anyone with a pulse yet so only time will tell.

White House's biggest advantage, in my opinion, is their passing game. Their QB, Nixon I believe, can throw it very well and has decent receivers. Springfield will need to limit their big plays in the passing game. I believe if the Jackets can do this and get some pressure on the QB I think they will be in good shape defensively.

Springfield's biggest advantage is their team speed and overall athletic ability. I look for White House to take Johnson away if they can, so others will need to step up. They have done it in other games, so I think they will here too. I feel that if Springfield can run the football effectively and not turn it over, they should be ok.

I feel the only way White House wins is if they can dominate the line of scrimmage on each side of the ball. The Devils are bigger up front that Springfield, but the Jackets have seen that pretty much all year so it's nothing new. Looking forward to an injury free game so neither side can fall back on that after the game.

I too think Springfield’s biggest weakness is in the trenches, with depth being the issue. The last couple of games some of the younger players got in the rotation, so hopefully that will rectify itself. The coverage issues seem to be better in the past game, but Springfield will have to be on there toes against White Houses WR and looks like there qb can sling it. I think Springfield will be ok stopping the run and I hope the offense keeps clicking like they have been. All in all should be a great game come Friday night

True. I believe SHS has been tested a lot more than WH.

This one would be fun to watch.  Good luck to both sides.
Always play it like it's last one.  (sorry for the video....can't delete it.)

    • As I said somewhere earlier in the thread, the original plans had no outdoor athletic facilities being part of the campus.  The original plan was for HVA to use facilities at nearby schools.  Very late in the process they came up with a plan and found budget to have minimal facilities and crammed them in to space that never was intended for athletic facilities.
    • Agreed, the way the field is turned you get the evening sun blasting right into the press box making filming a nightmare there, plus its so low.  The field is land locked and parking is a nightmare too. Seems like Knox County could have done a lot better there with the design and the quality.
    • I think this upcoming team may be pretty good, they will definately be better up front and if they can replace Dozier, Heyward and Rembert, they can be real good. They have the same strange schedule, but this time with 5 straight home games. The road games at Jeff County, Powell will be tough to open up with and the back side at Bearden is the tough game there.  One question I had if anyone knows: There has been some talk of an indoor practice facility in the past, with the new track area now more of a track area, that kind of leaves a need for a football practice area. Just sayin....
