Powell visits Clinton for our first home game of the year.  Clinton will be without the services of one of our best players, so someone else will need to step up.

I would love to see Clinton come out and play with some heart and determination and give Powell all they want and more.

Powell is my surprise team of the year. I believe Powell has a better than average defense and a very good offense.

I'm going with Powell in this one.

Powell 38  Clinton 14

Hope Clinton proves me wrong! Go Dragons!!

Clinton showed a lot of improvement against AC, and I think this game could be closer than some think, for 3 quarters or so. In the end, Powell probably has too much on both sides of the ball. Dragon, you're prediction looks spot on.

I worried last week's game against Karns would be a bit of a let down for the Panthers, and for one half, I was right. Powell's defense struggled early, but they really played well after halftime. Offensively, Powell clicked on all cylinders. They never punted, and only 3 drives results in zero points (INT, fumble at the goal line, took a knee on the final 2 plays at the goal line).

Thomas Harper for Karns is going to give alot of teams trouble this year, but I noticed Powell finally put a safety over the top and shut him down pretty much.

We're still struggling on defense stopping the pass, it's no secret. I hope we can true that up sooner rather than later.

I know this will be a very physical and hard hitting game. I just hope both teams come out injury free.

Yay a home game. Powell should win comfortably but I think Clinton could give em a game for a bit. I'm interested to see who the interim will be (assuming McKamey's suspension appeal gets denied) and how that will change things on offense, if it will at all.

Kinda like how I do on NCAA 2017....Hail Marry every play on offense and 4-4 all out blitz every play on defense.

See....coaching ain't that hard.

    • This late in the year, you’d have to think they’d go with an Asst. on staff, right? I’m pretty new to the area so still learning how folks do things around here…if Woods stays there to teach, it could be hard on a new guy/staff coming in…
    • Well, your Big Western Hunt better turn up some Zebras to come graze on the Stones to make the jungle gametime ready again and make sure the plumber bros. still will come service the facilities at the Mecca. I hope your weekend is Fowl. Tell Rip hello from the Five Oh. Maybe the Gravedigger will catch a ride with Alphaniner on a flyover soon to BNA.
    • It’s not hearsay, just patently false. As one of those young coaches he apparently “ran off”, coach never once ridiculed or degraded anyone. Sure he challenged kids and coached them very hard,  but we have different definitions of you call that degrading. Coach Hammontree changed my life when he gave me the chance to work for him. I learned more about being a man and caring for the people around me in 4 years working for him than I did in 20 years of my life. No one sacrificed more than he did. I left Heritage because I felt there would never be the support necessary to help the program succeed. I’m tired of hearing people drag others down especially those they truly don’t know. Coach has moved on and a new coach is there. Just let the man live and root for the team.
    • Waiting on the Great One.   White Horse and Rip have a big weekend in the woods, and the Sheriff is working the overtime here.      Turkey season awaits…..Big Gobblers everywhere.
