Story goes, several years ago the westmoreland field had alot of rock on it. To the point that in 1977 visiting portland walked the field picking up rocks and throwing them off before a scrimmage. That years eagle team nicknamed the wild bunch that went undefeated regular season and to the semi finals in the playoffs came out to see this and proceeded to throw the rocks back onto the field in a move of intimidatiom to show they didnt mind practicing in rock. That year the eagle defense was said to have been the #1 in the state and nicknamed the raw meat eaters by the papers. Thus the name rockpile kinda stuck.

Westmoreland will probably win big. With that being said no reason to be upset with last years game, can’t change it, just learn and live foward;). Yes I’ve heard at least JB’s best RB is out, or at least he was last week I think.

I have a feeling that last years game will be the starting point in the Eagles locker room for years to come. Anyone on the field that's not in an Eagles uniform Friday night, might want to button their chin strap up a little tighter than normal!

Awesome story.

Now let me tell you the story about how TC field got to be called the Creekbank.

Story goes, there is a creek that runs next to the field.

    • Not sure how I would put it as recruiting perhaps kids trying to better their career by going to a head coach and coaching staff with connections all over college football that gets them the opportunity to go play college football and be coached by a coach with a pretty good track record.
    • Lee would have been a good choice, also.  I'm sure Benny was involved with the decision.
    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
