Reclassification?

With the end of a 2 year cycle coming up, are there any schools moving classification because of 20% increase or decrease?  Will new schools opening up in '19-'20 have any bearing on reclassification?  Inquiring minds want to know.

Only way a new school opening will affect numbers is if it is already opened. Future opening does not have any bearing on numbers used for classification. They can appeal their enrollment once it is actually in place but not until then. May leave them in a  lurch for a year.

Beech?

The numbers of change by SC dropped to 1469 but it was 99 short of reaching the 20%.  Hendersonville increased by 4 students.  Beech went to 1390 but it’s not enough to reach 6A numbers.  Gallatin had the largest increase to 1635 but would have had to reach 1810 to get to 20%.

Its hard to imagine the larger schools meeting that 20% without a new school being involved somewhere in the process.

In the smaller schools its easier to have a smaller/larger class impact numbers. My graduating class had I believe 56 and the class after us had 100+.

So what you’re saying is there’s more students now at gallatin than Hendersonville but y’all get to stay 5a because there wasn’t a 20% increase?

That’s the rule.  But knowing these enrollment numbers, Gallatin will be a 6A team starting in 2021.

Yet another High School opening up in Rutherford County at Rockvale.  This is between R'dale, Blackman, and Eagleville.  Might pull some from Stewarts Creek to give to Blackman with zone changes in the county.

Well when are they going to do something about Oakland or can they keep stacking them in there like sardines.
