What's 171 looking like this year?????

Wipperman is not even the best 171 in his region. Valentine of Lipscomb I think is better. I saw Wipperman wrestle Luttrell at Lipscomb in a quad match & Wipperman to me seems to wrestle defensively. He never shot on Luttrell not the first time. Physically, he looks good but he will have to show me more than what he showed that night to make a believer out of me that he will be in the state finals. Valentine & Wipperman did not wrestle because of Valentine not making weight at that date. But Valentine is at 171 at this time as matter of fact he won the Ft. Campbell tourney.

Michael Marable is the baddest man alive. He will kill Luttrell and whoever even thinks about going toe to toe with him. Luttrell wouldnt even come wrestle Michael, for fear of getting killed. Everyone should give up now.

Marable is for real. Does FRA run into CBHS again? I might go just to watch the 171s. Whipperman's already lost 3 or 4

Well, we do know a little more about 171 after this weekend. Wipperman beat Valentine 4-2 for 3rd place in the Ryan Invitational. In the semis, Wipperman lost to Luttrell 5-4 while Marable beat Valentine. Wipperman must have read Twittycanes post since he took Luttrell down with a nice leg shot in the first period for the first points of the match, which was tight and could have gone either way. Marable looked really strong in beating Luttrell by decision but, Brothersboy, he certainly did not kill Luttrell----it was a hard fought match but with Marable in

control for the better part of it. Since they were in opposite brackets, Wipperman and Marable did't meet and, thanks the public-private split that plagues our sport, I don't guess we will get a chance to see them wrestle.

the 171 final at Father ryan was great. it will be a great final at state.

I think Wipperman is wrestling 189 this year or maybe he only wrestled there in the Father Ryan match. I saw that match and he didn't look like a finalist to me. He got beat convincingly by Greenwood from Ryan.

 

He was bumped up due to the number of FRA wrestlers who were out for that match. He still weighs about 171, and wrestling guys who weigh 18 pounds more than you is a large disadvantage, especially against Father Ryan, so dont sell him short.
