I know it says that but Marshall county has 32,000 people. They have three high schools 4a and 2a and 1a school. So math does not add up. But hey it is what it is tssaa says HC is a 5a.

I'm too lazy to look it up, but let's say the 4A school had 900, 2A had 400 and the 1A had 200.

That's 1500, which would make them 5A if they had one school.

Henry County usually graduates about 300 students each year and an enrollment range of 1300-1500.

Alright, I'll bite. Let's peel the onion.

According to the 2010 census, 25.6% of the population in Marshall County is under the age of 18 (30,617 residents * 0.256 = 7,838 kids), versus just 22.2% in Henry County (32,330 * 0.222 = 7,177). According to 2016 census estimates, both counties are actually nearly identical in population (31,915 in Marshall Co vs. 32,310 in Henry Co), so if those 2010 demographics are still accurate, that would put 8,170 kids in Marshall Co versus 7,173 in Henry Co. Based on that ratio, Marshall Co has 13.9% more people under the age of 18.

According to the TSSAA enrollment figures that were released last week, the three Marshall county high schools combined have 1,655 students (309 + 501 + 845). Based on the same ratio, I would expect Henry Co HS to have roughly 1,453 students (1655 / 1.139).

I don't think there are census statistics that breakdown that <18 age range any further, so that skews things a bit. I'm not sure what Bodine's issue is, but I don't see the problem.

Demographics shmemographics.

It's clearly all a conspiracy to keep us in 5A.

Rhea School = 450

Paris School on Volunteer = 450

Inman = 450

Grove HS = 300

HCHS = 1300

He's right. 2,950.  We should be 7A (AAAAAAA).  Somebody notify the TSSAA.

So Grove HS is just for 9th graders correct?  and Henry Co. is for 10-12?  So combine them at 1600 students enough to be moved up.

HCHS only has around 1000 students. In fact, if we just used our on-campus enrollment, we would actually be a borderline 4A school.

The 1300 figure is our 9-12 enrollment as required by the TSSAA, which includes both Grove and HCHS.

Then hopefully Factsonlygets his facts straight because the way he put it HC should be moved up.

Henry County should be 7A.  We have the most students of all schools in the state.  This is a very population dense area.  I don't know how both the US Census and the TSSAA overlooked this.  We've been trying to move up for years but the powers that be keep saying "no, you are too little".

I was, and still am, trying to be funny.

    • He had an opportunity to be the OC at TC without final say in the offensive gameplan. How does that work? Smh. Head Coaches are public figures regardless of the community size, and yes there are some out there, it’s irrelevant and not fair to them to name them on here. Also why is said “head coach” the head coach of the MS baseball program to begin with? Oh because no one wants it. As for the Lebanon question, I know what I’ve been told so just going off here say, some of the boosters were not happy with his roster decisions and wanted him out. Although he lead them to 20+ wins in multiple seasons
    • A head coach in the school system? No I dont think so. Head coaches are public figures in small communities. Not trying to slander, but this is an actual question. Do you know why he was forced to resign at Lebanon? This was his second chance.  He already left trousdale once and had an opportunity to come back a couple of years ago but spoiled that.
    • Are you perfect? Nope no one is, at the end of the day there are several teachers/coaches and even some in the Trousdale County school system that have DUI’s on their record. You’re correct on it being a bad mistake and it unfortunately could have ended horribly. While you consider the consequences minimal, I can assure you they are not. Ultimately I hope and have faith that he will learn from it and use it to better himself.
