Best Rivalry in Knox - BHS v FHS

Best rivalry in Knoxville this week...Bearden v Farragut.  Farragut is coming to Bearden 8-0 but with a couple of key injuries.  Bearden is 6-1 coming off their bye week.  Don't know about their injury status.  Bearden hasn't beaten Farragut since 2012.  (Best high school game I've ever seen, BHS came from behind and won in 3OT). 

What's the thought on this game?  Who's your money on?

The penalites at the end were very unfortunate. The Farragut WR was blocking the Bearden CB and as the whistle blew to stop the play on the other side of the field the Bearden CB threw the Farragut WR

Erik, it would be better if it wasn't during fall break.  So much school spirit goes into this rivalry, with the whole Farragut Farmers thing, so it would be better if school was in session. Also

Well, it is a rivalry game I guess due to the proximity of the schools, but Farragut usually has the upper hand in the series.   Now and then the Bulldogs can jump up and bite however.   If Farragut doesn't play well, that could very well happen this time, as the Bulldogs are a pretty decent team.   Farragut needs to stay focused and play like they are capable of playing.   If that happens, I see Farragut winning this game comfortably something like 28-10 or 35-14.   The score may also depend upon whether or not Farragut's starting QB can play this week.

Also Erik, I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your broadcasts, along with your color guy, whose name I forget.  I don't like in the Knoxville area anymore, so my connection to the program is your broadcast and the streaming service.  You guys do such a great job and I really enjoy it!!!

As it turns out Region 1 teams will redraw for their region schedule over the next 2 years. So maybe that will work out better where the Farragut-Bearden game is concerned.

Thanks for the kind words and for listening. Tonight we've got a 1-hour pregame show (lots of series history stuff early in the hour) that will begin at 6 pm ahead of the 7 o'clock kickoff.

      Shopping? His family is loaded and he's 6'6 I'm pretty sure he could start anywhere in upper East TN,So no need to shop. Word is Witten got caught trying to work him out on campus and some 7 on 7 while playing athletics for Sullivan East. Word got around pretty quick and Someone turned them into TSSAA.

      Quick update on Jacob -  Jacob celebrated his 16th birthday at Vanderbilt on Tuesday and has been in decent spirits.  His sense of humor has begun to show as he was visited by many friends.  He is swallowing a lot better now and has eaten some of his favorites (Chik-Fil-A and Five Guys).   He is getting prepared to head to Atlanta to the Shepherd Center first thing tomorrow morning.  His family has been waiting on insurance approval. In case you dont know the Shepherd Center it a world class facility and supposedly one of the best in the country for spinal injury rehab.  Praying for perfect results there. Considering the circumstances, Jacob is in decent spirits.  He has some reflexive movement in his legs which I think is probably a very positive sign.  Don't read too much into that just yet as there is no telling what the real prognosis is... just hopeful that is good thing.  I am really just happy that it seems like he has a punchers chance of getting something back.  He is a strong young man and very determined so I think he will fight as hard as he can in physical therapy while down in Atlanta.
