Most of the kids (excluding the freshmen) know what it takes to get to Cookeville. They are on a mission and I don't believe their will be a game where less than 100% won't be given. You are right, the key is you must stay healthy! Looking for an exciting playoff season! Starting in November everybody's record is 0-0.

That’s where Tyner’s experience gives them an edge. Our team is special this year, I hope they understand what it’s going to take to get to Cookville. I know we have the talent, but we’ll have to see if we have the resolve. Last week’s game gave me pause. Hoping to see some angry/focused/hungry Tigers Friday night.

Looking at the score your team took care of business last night!! It took a quarter, or so, for the Rams to take control but that's how it goes sometimes on "Senior Night"!

Last night was a vast improvement over the Jackson County game. The only time Smith Co scored was when some 2nd and 3rd team players were in. A couple of miscues on D, but they were dialed in for the most part. Simple mistakes to fix. Offense was on point all night... well at least the first half. 1st team didn't see the field in the second half on either side of the ball. It was senior night for us as well and I know that can trow the players off their routines. But I think our boys knew they needed to shake last week's game off and get after it, which they did. They've already accomplished their first goal for the season, first Regional Championship since 1985. Now they have one more game to wrap up their second goal, Watertown's first undefeated season since 1979. After that, wipe the slate clean and set some new goals. Very proud of these young men in little ol' Watertown.

There is ONE contender-Trenton Peabody. Everyone else will be a stepping stone to the Gold ball.

Peabody will be very hard to beat but for you to say everyone else will be a stepping stone is bold statement. There are several teams from the West that has a shot at going to Cookeville.

Get outta here with that BS. Still lots of football left to be played. I hope Peabody is as cocky as you are. I’m not so sure Peabody is as good as everyone thinks. Looking at the numbers/opponents/strength of schedule etc I’d say you need to step off your high horse or be humbled.

They are that good I watched them Friday. They can be beat but they are a solid team

As good as Meigs is we slipped up severely Friday as well. The team did not appear ready for a team that wouldn't just lay down for them. in reality I hope our kids learned that sometimes other kids give 100% as well. And when they do you may have to dig deep to win. Against a top 5 team we wouldn't have been able to win a game playing only good for two quarters. Meigs is touchable. I saw that Friday.

    • From my understanding, Jay Graham pretty much took over HC responsibilities in that game, so you can thank him. Cute Andy didn’t need help, though. Cute Andy could’ve beaten us without any assistant coaches.
    • Tax payer dollars are paid for certified teachers to "teach" and then coach. The primary job is to teach.  There are some district that ay awesome supplements and others that don't. Dyersburg and Dyer County are pretty close if I remember correctly. I would imagine that Football and basketball are above $10,000 now.  I've heard that Milan is $20,000 for boys basketball. I would imagine that football is more than that in Milan.  Collierville has camps that coaches get paid extra for. 3 camps a year, 100 kids a camp, $30,000 right there.  There are places like Memphis-Shelby County schools where the supplements are garbage even for the head coaches. I made less than $3,000 as the head assistant at Germantown in 2015 when we were 26-4 and one of the best teams in the Southeast. As a head middle school coach next year I will make between $4-5,000 at a municipal in Shelby County.  Coaches should be compensated for the jobs that are required but lets keep in mind that they are educators first.  It's pretty frustrating to other teachers that work their tale off teaching 6-7 classes a day to watch someone roam campus, not teach (or have very minimal responsibilities), and get paid the same (more with supplements) as a person who has the some years of experience or sometimes less.
    • This will get coaches leaving the profession very quickly if this kid wins this case. This is absurd...
    • yeah money aint right there anymore
