Get outta here with that BS. Still lots of football left to be played. I hope Peabody is as cocky as you are. I’m not so sure Peabody is as good as everyone thinks. Looking at the numbers/opponents/strength of schedule etc I’d say you need to step off your high horse or be humbled.

He isn’t  a Peabody fan. You should worry more about waverly. Peabody fans know we can be beat. We have a good team. Peabody got beat last year by the state champs twice by a touchdown with a team of sophomores and a few seniors with key players out both games.  You guys got beat by CA that went on to get pounded by union city

Yea but I think we would have beat UC. That was last yr. If you want to talk about past games GC got DUSTED by TCA and UC but they beat yall! We aint worried about last yrs games nor last week games. If Waverly can get past LC or Riverside and you guys get passed Fairley. Then we can talk. Either way Tide21 good luck to you guys hope we meet up in Trenton.

2 A is to deep with good teams to say anything is for sure ,do I think Peabody is elite ,YEP, but a good teams will easily grind out a win if the stars align, they play lights out and the elite team plays "human" that game !! Also match ups against others cannot and will not be a barometer for  another game !! Vandy and I was talking  at the TCA game and I asked a honest question" how did yall loose to CA last year" his answer just plain simple honesty "we just did" it really is a simple but true answer !! I am a true believer in the playoffs are a new season!!!!

I agree but it’s the only comparison I can make  and Peabody is essentially the same team as last year except on the line. If you couldnt beat CA last year you wouldn’t have beat union city last year.  They basically play football the same way.  Many things went wrong in the GC game and we got beat but we shouldn’t have. Hopefully we make it that far this year.  Good luck to you guys too.

Your right about that. Anybody can be beat and just because you blow a team out of the water during the season doesnt mean your going to do it in the playoffs. Its hard to beat a good team twice. We found that out when we played Scott Hill in 2016 1st game was 40-0 we dominated then round 3 at Wavo we won again but it was less than a touchdown.

    • Lee would have been a good choice, also.  I'm sure Benny was involved with the decision.
    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
