Blackman builds a tougher resume with Alcoa, Mt Juliet and Ravenwood

Lookslike Blackman is taking on more homework in building a tougher resume. 2019 season will feature, Alcoa, Mt Juliet and Ravenwood and an undetermined 4th non-conference team to round out the schedule.  For those folks saying Mt Juliet plays asoft schedule I believe this will be a better Non conference game for both of us as we prepare for possible playoff games later in the season. Not to mention taking on a very talented and loaded Alcoa. Now if we could only add Maryville or Hoover we would have one of if not the toughest Non-conference schedule of anyone in the region 3-6a.

I don't know that we have the size, talent or coaching to play with them next year, but I do know IRON SHARPENS IRON. The only way Blackman will ever be on the level of Maryville,s Hoovers. Alcoa's and even Oakland year in and year out is to play quality opponents. I believe that great competition helps to set the std and bar for what you have to do to get there. Playing great competition once or twice a year gets you a first or second round ticket to watch the playoffs from the bleachers.

Well this might be a very interesting game. Glad to see Alcoa step up to the plate and sign this one up.

I think Alcoa may be trying to get a couple of more big ones before its all said and done. Its not Alcoa that runs from games. Traveling west doesn't bother me, swing by TTU and get some Ralph's donuts for the ride.

Nice to see Blackman step up and accept to play...:thumb: Now if only Oak Ridge would answer the call...

It was not Alcoa looking , it was actually Blackman looking to fill some slots. Florence Alabama decided to drop coming to Blackman which left and open week one. Just so happened that Alcoa was open as well. It didn't hurt that current Blackman Kit Hartsfield also played for Rankin state Championship squad. (They were good friends) Mentor/mentee

    • QUICK UPDATE -  First, I see a lot of wrestling names that I recognize on that GoFundMe.  THANK YOU so much for helping this family.   After the long surgery on Sunday morning to repair his neck, Jacob suffered a collapsed lung.  Sometimes this happens after long surgeries.  They had to put him on a ventilator to get his breathing back on track.  He came off the vent on Monday morning and they put a BIPAP on him to help control his breathing.  As of today, Thursday, the BIPAP came off and he is breathing well on his own.  He is working towards drinking a glass of water and hopefully eating some solid food at some point in the near future. Jacob can "feel" when someone touches his legs, but there is still no movement.  His parents are beginning to prepare for him to be moved to the Shepherd Center in the next few days.  He will be there in Atlanta for 30-45 days.  Im sure he will receive excellent treatment. Please continue to pray for healing for him and if you are so moved, please contribute to the gofundme link above to help in any way you can.  The go fund me is doing well, but this is going to be a very long road for these guys Im afraid.. Thanks again! Sells
