Jaden Keller really shined for THS.  He scored on both of his catches and appears to be their best player by a country mile.  They have a D1 TE but I guess they're content not throwing to him?  The offensive line has some glaring weaknesses as well as special teams, which will be hard to overcome this year.  I would put them fighting for 3rd behind Boone and Crockett this year in the region.

Yep, one of the linemen seemed to always be getting pushed in the backfield. Also, DB really struggled with Keller. I thought Keller should have gotten a few more targets.

Come on D backs !!!!!

I can remember a time at DB when the D back field was on point , produced many College players  ... Some of the best "Volunteer/ Coaches "  at the middle school level in Kingsport retired several years ago .. I certainly know of one that did everything he could to coach the D backs  and made some great ones !.

We need some great coaches in the Middle School level ( Robinson and Sevier ) before DB becomes great again .. I heard Robinson has not done to well this year ... 0-2 ??

Better enjoy what wins DB gets this year and next. The chickens are going to come home to roost in a couple of years. I think the middle schools only won "1" game between them last year and this year isn't looking any better. The coaching is really bad and they don't even try to get kids to come out and play. The school system has been infected with liberals (who think winning isn't fair) and know it all dunderheads who make it all about themselves instead of the kids. It only gets worse from here.

Former DB Cade Maupin sure single handely put it to Science Hill !! 158 yards rushing , crucial interception  , fumble recovery and a TD  !!!

sometimes I think how I can't blame him but then how can you get any better than J Fred on a Friday night ..

thats The Story at DB ... two players (our Big 235 lb bruiser of a running back is not playing(quit)  and Cade transferred ) ... WOW

Elizabethton hit the lottery .DB could have used those two skill players to go with the way both sides of the  lines are playing. It's not going to help the Devils either.I was already worried about Betsy before that happened.I watched those Maupin boys since the first one was at Robinson and know they are great athletes.

We went to the Betsy - SHHS game instead, but the win over THS makes me cautiously optimistic about a 5-5 season. We did go to the freshman game (our grandson plays) last night at Cherokee, and it was worse than I expected as D-B got throttled in every phase of the game in a 34-0 loss. The "highlight" of the night for the Indians was the opening kickoff when the kicker created a buzz through the fans from both sides when he drove kickoff  deep into the end zone. From there, it was all downhill. To be fair, I'm guessing that Cherokee had several sophomores playing for them in order to field a JV/Freshman team, but that was still brutal to watch,

    • Yep..could possibly have 3 teams ranked in top ten in the same four team district.
    • He had an opportunity to be the OC at TC without final say in the offensive gameplan. How does that work? Smh. Head Coaches are public figures regardless of the community size, and yes there are some out there, it’s irrelevant and not fair to them to name them on here. Also why is said “head coach” the head coach of the MS baseball program to begin with? Oh because no one wants it. As for the Lebanon question, I know what I’ve been told so just going off here say, some of the boosters were not happy with his roster decisions and wanted him out. Although he lead them to 20+ wins in multiple seasons
    • A head coach in the school system? No I dont think so. Head coaches are public figures in small communities. Not trying to slander, but this is an actual question. Do you know why he was forced to resign at Lebanon? This was his second chance.  He already left trousdale once and had an opportunity to come back a couple of years ago but spoiled that.
    • Are you perfect? Nope no one is, at the end of the day there are several teachers/coaches and even some in the Trousdale County school system that have DUI’s on their record. You’re correct on it being a bad mistake and it unfortunately could have ended horribly. While you consider the consequences minimal, I can assure you they are not. Ultimately I hope and have faith that he will learn from it and use it to better himself.
