RebelAtHeart
Hawks peaking at the right time. Dominant win over Bearden Friday. Opportunity for HVA to make history with their first ever District Title in football. Farragut coming off a week of rest, motivated by their Bearden loss, and hungry for the title and 1-seed too! Who you got?
blazer1set
History would favor Farragut, but I'm thinking whoever wants it the most in this one..

matchesmalone2
Matches is back with a prediction. Those athletes at HVA did not disappoint. They got my crow ready for me last week I'll tell you that. I think this will be a close one because I think raw talent wise both Farragut and HVA are fairly evenly matched. Farragut's lines are bigger and stronger but I am with @blazer1set it comes down to whoever wants it more. This won't go like past HVA v Farragut games. My gut tells me Farragut has this one though. I'll hang up and listen.
chsbobcat09
I’ll take the Fighting Coach Howard’s(aka HVA) in this game!
RebelAtHeart
A favorite quote of mine... "Hard work beats talent when talent refuses to work hard" - Tim Tebow. On paper these two match up closely... believe it is going to come down to who wants it more! 3 more days to work... Offensive Line - Advantage Farragut (fairly big and aggressive front) QB Play - Teams look even - though with very different styles (FHS gunslinger vs HVA dual threat) Running Game - Teams look even (FHS pound and ground vs HVA big play speed) Passing Game - Teams look even (FHS top talent vs HVA multi-threat) Defensive Line/Backers - Advantage HVA (able to slow down DB #30 and shutdown BHS #1 and dial up pressure on QB's) Defensive Secondary - Advantage Farragut (HVA secondary decent on run support but vulnerable to deep ball) Special Teams - Advantage HVA (HVA's return specialist dangerous while both teams have great kickers) Throw in what looks to be a wet ball night, who knows the impact from refs, and one team coming off bye with another off a couple major wins... This one could be sloppy and back and forth, but it should be a great one! Either way it looks like they'll have an opportunity to meet again in two weeks if they both win their respective first round games. That's why they play! #anygivenfridaynight
Ericdietz
8 hours ago, rebelsrecruit said: I have only seen HVA on TV the first game of the year. I have seen 2 Farragut games. I feel like Farragut has some of the most talented kids in Knoxville but they are getting out coached almost weekly. I understand that the Farragut head coach has been there like 87 years but I don't think he really does much play calling on Friday nights. They have one of the best pure passing QBs in east TN and that #15 is a moose. For some reason 15 didn't get a carry until 2nd half of Bearden game!?!? I think HVA has better coaching and that Farragut has better players overall. Maybe the Farragut Off Cord played a lot of Madden during their Bye week and figured out how to call plays that feature his teams strengths. If that happens I THINK Farragut will get the win. I agree with you. I watched the HVA - vs- Bearden game last week and I was impressed with HVA. All that being said refs call the HVA - FHS game the way they called them in the FHS -vs- Bearden game then all the coaching and all the talent in the world could not help Farragut win the game. So my prediction is Farragut wins unless they are playing against HVA and the guys in stripes ... I guess I'm still a little bitter lol
CHSAlum04
Ads win big. I'm guessing by at least 3 scores. Not even close. HVA isn't as good as they look. My guess: 38-14 Admirals. Region 1-6A is a disaster this year. Any team could beat any team. As they say, you're only as good as your weakest link. CHSAlum04
@RebelsRecruit is still salty over that Alcoa pound and ground they got at the beginning of the Season. Lol @ you and your pals that recruit in Blunt County.

The Maryville system hurts high school football in blount county. I am a high school football fan in general and hate what the recruiting has done to Hertitage and WB. Wow man, I had no idea that Maryville violated TSSAA recruiting rules. Dang, no wonder they are so good every year. Have you gone to the TSSAA and turned over your evidence so that investigations/sanctions can begin? http://tssaa.org/about/contact-us/
