I like to use music to analize things. Should TCA listen to BTO and Take Care Of Business then I will go to McKenzie on Friday with some purple clad friends and we will listen to Billy Idol and come in singing "with a McKenzie Rebel Yell, we'll  cry More, More More.....

I would say bring the Diamond but I don't know when he is leaving for Lindsey with BU.  I haven't talked to him today.

Gc struggled on the offensive side of the ball all year. They lost their best linebacker against us at end of the game. It seems like that really affected them.  I’m going with McKenzie for the win.

An average of 26 PPG isn’t a struggle scoring the ball... in fact, if you compare that to the rest of the region, we are second in scoring behind Peabody.

If we are going to win this game, we are going to have to score in the 30’s...

Gibson County has had a special year.  I'd love to see one more upset victory to propel them to the state playoffs.  Either way they've put their football program on the map this year against 2A's best.

Gibson county got lucky against Peabody. A couple of calls didn't go the right way for the tide and mental mistakes killed them as well. This game will be close. I do believe that my rebels are playing better and that our defense finally showed up against Union city. Our quarterback is gaining more experience snap after snap. The stands will be packed on both sides for this do or die game.  Go Rebels!

Averaging 26 points a game is a good thing.  GC has only topped that mark 3 times this season.  The 26 point per game average is heavily weighted by a 46 point effort against Halls and a 50 point effort against South Fulton.  Against TCA, your offense only scored one touchdown.  The other was on the opening kickoff which is questionable as runner fumbled going across the goal line. Against Peabody, your winning score was actually on an illegal double forward pass play that the official was out of position to notice.  In three of your last five games GC has scored 14 points per game.  In reality, the GC offense has struggled most of the year.  Defense carried you and with your best defensive player out for the year, it has made GC struggle as a team with 2 straight losses.  To me, McKenzie is the favorite in this game.

Did you say illegal forward pass? I’ve said that ever since that play happened... honestly I don’t talk bad about the refs, but that night at least 1 or 2 had to be from the Dyer area.

The video does not lie.  In he NFL, the ruling on the field would have been quickly overturned.  Official was out of position to make the correct call.

100% correct. IF Peabody can somehow run the table and win it all, which I’m not saying we will do so, still a lot of football left to be played. I’d hate the be that crew that was on the field knowing that they screwed a team out of a win that night big time. GC folks wonder why we are so hurt about.. it’s because the kids played their butts off to get beaten by a side judge.

I’m not quite sure a win over McKenzie would be considered an upset. Also, I don’t agree with the statement of putting their football team on the map this year against 2A’s best... Gibson County’s only win against “2A’s best” is coming over Peabody... Outside of that, I don’t see any other marquee wins for GC. The only other significant win that Gibson County has is a victory over West Carroll who has shown since, they aren’t as good in 1A as everyone has believed them to be.

    • This late in the year, you’d have to think they’d go with an Asst. on staff, right? I’m pretty new to the area so still learning how folks do things around here…if Woods stays there to teach, it could be hard on a new guy/staff coming in…
    • Well, your Big Western Hunt better turn up some Zebras to come graze on the Stones to make the jungle gametime ready again and make sure the plumber bros. still will come service the facilities at the Mecca. I hope your weekend is Fowl. Tell Rip hello from the Five Oh. Maybe the Gravedigger will catch a ride with Alphaniner on a flyover soon to BNA.
    • It’s not hearsay, just patently false. As one of those young coaches he apparently “ran off”, coach never once ridiculed or degraded anyone. Sure he challenged kids and coached them very hard,  but we have different definitions of you call that degrading. Coach Hammontree changed my life when he gave me the chance to work for him. I learned more about being a man and caring for the people around me in 4 years working for him than I did in 20 years of my life. No one sacrificed more than he did. I left Heritage because I felt there would never be the support necessary to help the program succeed. I’m tired of hearing people drag others down especially those they truly don’t know. Coach has moved on and a new coach is there. Just let the man live and root for the team.
    • Waiting on the Great One.   White Horse and Rip have a big weekend in the woods, and the Sheriff is working the overtime here.      Turkey season awaits…..Big Gobblers everywhere.
