Lady Cavs struggled Friday night shooting.  LadyCavsFan had it rolling early last night, but we just could not buy a basket in third.  Big games coming ahead.

2 points for Cavs in the 3rd quarter and too many turnovers/fouls.  Stone shot ALOT of FT and made like 80%.  It’s obvious we aren’t playing very good right now.  Freshman are finally playing like Freshman and So/Jr are also playing like Freshman. We are not making shots and we are making too many mistakes.   I am not sure who is playing worse right now.  White County or Cookeville?  I don’t think we will play like that on Friday but we really need some leadership from our Senior and Juniors.   That is what we are missing.

Coming into the final games of the season, I expected us to host a regional.  I still believe that will happen but it will come down to how bad these girls want it.  The best team will win Friday night.  The basketball don’t lie.

I think White Co is a little better than Cookeville on a neutral floor.

We beat them in both district games.   If we can beat them on their home court we can beat them on a neutral court.  But the teams are close.   The main difference is the bench.   We are much deeper.   But if the Cookeville team that showed up the past few games shows up Friday we are in trouble.

Both of those wins they were without their starting point guard. Sparta beat CHS by 19  at the Christmas tournament before she was injured.

White County sweeps Cookeville on Friday night.

Based on past predictions of UCSF in this district,  its officially a lock!  :D Thanks UC,  I was on the fence for my prediction before that post but now I have to go with the Cookeville sweep.   Break out the brooms.   This one won't be pretty.  Cookeville not only wins....its gonna be by a couple touchdowns.

    • My favorite game of the 1980'S, that's why I remember it so well.
    • Why would the tax payers be responsible for paying for only a coach? In recent years with all the theft from various programs in schools from different programs with booster clubs (not just sports) the State of TN has made alot of rules surrounding booster clubs and how they handle money.  I have two documents to review, 1 is 40 pages from the state comptroller and the other is 37 pages from my district, so I can consider starting a booster club for my middle school program. It has been too much trouble in the past for the other coaches.  There is no way there needs to be an adult in the school building for 7 hours a day with no responsibilities except coaching.
    • The only thing that was said at half time of the 45-0 game was Coach Story, he said: "I know y'all have been out there a lot, but kick-off team, y'all need to get down there faster!" Then he and the other coaches proceeded to go into the coaches office and we all went nuts!  It was the only time I can ever remember coaches not saying anything at half time. Definitely a great memory!!!
    • Boyd could actually be a grade below what he is now, but his parents didn't see the need to "redshirt" him like the other city school down the road would have pushed for....
