that region is horrible.  they got swept last year and I'm sure they will again this year.

lol...I wouldn't go as far as saying that R3 is horrible, but I will say that  there's no way that they've seen the speed that any of them will encounter this Friday.  The only game I question is whether Marshall Co. can get a W against Stone, but my feeling is that MC will be too athletic for Stone to handle.  At any rate, I do expect R4 to sweep R3.

From the Tennseean

3 Nolensville (6-4) at 2 Macon County (5-5)

When: 7 p.m. Friday

Despite being in just its third year, Nolensville is no stranger to playoff wins. The Knights beat Livingston Academy in the first round of last year’s Class 4A playoffs and nearly knocked off Maplewood the following week. Macon County won three of its final four games to claim a runner-up finish in Region 3-4A.

Kreager: Nolensville 28, Macon Co. 21
Murphy: Nolensville 21, Macon Co. 14

I believe some crow needs to be put in oven Friday. I believe stone and macon wins over yalls beloved region! Macon has won 3 out of last 4 and upperman would put a whooping on anyone in middle Tennessee so dont count us out this round!

Two out if three wins were against your Region 3 buddy.

I'm not sure why you're  bringing Upperman into the discussion . Neither Macon County (nor any other Region 3 4A team) fared well against the Bees. Perhaps their dominance goes to further prove how down Region 3 4A is.  Also, one team's dominance doesn't necessarily translate to others in the area. If that were true William Blount would at least have winnings seasons.

I was just stating that we have had a win streak ( except Upperman) and Macon is far better than early season. And btw Macon beat Portland big the week after Portland beat White House which is always a giant in Nashville area. I'm just sick of everyone overlooking the Cumberland. Yes I know team speed isn't same but I'll take my chances with a well coached team over speed. Speed will win games but coaches can get you rings!

Portland and White House is only big to Portland and White House. That game hasn't been big in the Nashville area for a decade.

I never mentioned speed. I agree that good coaching is a prime ingredient. If speed was all this is necessary Memphis teams would be winning every championships. And Whites Creek would have a top team every year in Metro Nashville.

There is some good football on the Cumberland Plateau. There is just not currently an abundance of it in Region 3 Class 4A.

    • Yep..could possibly have 3 teams ranked in top ten in the same four team district.
    • He had an opportunity to be the OC at TC without final say in the offensive gameplan. How does that work? Smh. Head Coaches are public figures regardless of the community size, and yes there are some out there, it’s irrelevant and not fair to them to name them on here. Also why is said “head coach” the head coach of the MS baseball program to begin with? Oh because no one wants it. As for the Lebanon question, I know what I’ve been told so just going off here say, some of the boosters were not happy with his roster decisions and wanted him out. Although he lead them to 20+ wins in multiple seasons
    • A head coach in the school system? No I dont think so. Head coaches are public figures in small communities. Not trying to slander, but this is an actual question. Do you know why he was forced to resign at Lebanon? This was his second chance.  He already left trousdale once and had an opportunity to come back a couple of years ago but spoiled that.
    • Are you perfect? Nope no one is, at the end of the day there are several teachers/coaches and even some in the Trousdale County school system that have DUI’s on their record. You’re correct on it being a bad mistake and it unfortunately could have ended horribly. While you consider the consequences minimal, I can assure you they are not. Ultimately I hope and have faith that he will learn from it and use it to better himself.
