is that a salvageable program or do parents just run it?

I think it's salvageable. There has never been a strong winning tradition, but the culture is what needs to change. CCHS has had plenty of athletes, that's not the problem. The problem has been coaching decisions and 4 quarters of all-out, hustle and effort.  I'm not sure just how much parents are a problem, they may very well be, though.  The next head coach can be successful if he can impact the psychology of the athletes there and get them to believe they can win.  A more reasonable non-region schedule would also help. This year their schedule was the #1 toughest in 4A football to start the season. It ended the season as the 9th hardest. That's brutal.

Yes it could with the right coach. Larry Kerr took over Union County 2 years ago when they was talking about shutting the program down and got to a winning season in year 2. Someone needs to come in and change the attitude in the school because it's not been the same since Stone Memorial opened
