Ravenwood gets bye after Overton fight

Overton unable to play Friday, TSSAA ruling.

Stupid.If they are going to do this to teams then they should put replacement teams in the playoffs.Harriman should have replaced Unaka.McGavock should have moved up 1 spot then Stewarts Creek let in.

It would have been nice to do this. But the letters went out today. It would be kind of screwing Mcgavock over by telling them to play Ravenwood after preparing all week for Brentwood and then today telling Stewarts Creek to play Brentwood tomorrow with no preparation.

And what punishment does 0 and 10 Antioch get? You can't take playoffs away if they didn't qualify.

The punishments were not equal. The only team with the punishment and making all the headlines is Overton. There’s no way to punish an 0-10 team that wouldn’t care anyways.

Both teams got a two year ban from playoffs. Again this might be a bigger punishment for Overton.

Stewarts Creek beat both Antioch and Lavergne by large scores plus was actually ahead of Overton by 2 TDs in the 4th quarter.  They are next man up if somebody in front of them forfeits that chance to go.

Giving Ravenwood a bye instead of promoting Stewie to a playoff spot is a load of BS.  The Redhawks won their final game by 44-7.  There is no "wouldn't be ready to play."  It's a screwjob.

This is definately a larger issue for Overton. Two years of transfering out.

The problem with this entire episode is that the T$$AA waits till the afternoon before the game to make this ruling.

 

I’m actually surprised they did it, however. They are going to mi$$ gate reciepts.

So it's like the TSSAA looks at Antioch and says we can't get blood out of a dry turnip.

At least the TSSAA didn't punish the basketball teams for the actions of the football teams as they did a year ago with Unaka.
