It’s not arrogance. It’s pride. CA was bad at football throughout the entirety of it being a sport at CA aside from a few average years. Most every private school does recruit now adays, but we pride ourselves on the fact that we have finally got something going in our football program and have done it the right way. That’s why we defend the fact that we don’t recruit so heavily, because many of us went through years and years of disappointment in production On the field and now we finally have success.

it is pride? you are proud that you can find the gray area in rules and recruit like you do to get to the top.

But you do it, just not that much......makes sense.

This is a pointless discussion. There is nothing anybody from CA could do to convince anyone outside of CA to believe us. We CA fans that have children on the teams and have been here for years, through the good and the bad, know that we have done it the right way and not recruited. Next year in D2 will likely be a different story.

General and Apache you can say all you want to about last year and this year but when all the BS settles it comes down to one thing. CA defense has to get 4 stops on Waverly or Waverly will just outscore them in the end. Comparing last years teams is a waste of oxygen, CA can’t throw the ball this year and Waverly runs a lot more and doesn’t score nearly as fast as they did last year. CA gets the stops on D they win if not Waverly wins, either way should be a good game to watch.

That is one thing we can agree on, there is nothing you can say to make me think any different. I have been around long enough to have witnessed plenty. Like another person keeps saying, every freaking sport.

Good luck tonight, safe travels, and enjoy your move to DII next year.

My consistent points thruout this entire marathon of a thread.

- CA is more physical 22 vs 22

- CA needs turnovers to win

- Waverly is not as explosive as last year

- Circling a game for a year can have good or bad effects. If Waverly comes out tight with all the pressure their trash talking fans have created and CA comes out relaxed expecting to win again, as their fans have basically been pretty humble, then CA wins.

- If CA comes out sluggish, they lose.

We can still spread it out and be explosive  if we need to . We haven't had to as much this year but when we do it's jus as good as last year. We have been a run first team this year . We can still pass . I think Waverly  might jus surprise some of y'all tonight. Still like Ive been saying it's going to be a close game Waverly 35 to CA 28. Unless coach opens it up

    • He may have possibly said that to get the best out of him. Back when I was in school word got out I was going to transfer and Coach Story popped off and ask Coach Wilson in front of the team if Maryville was going to get a jock strap in return on this trade. That got back to me and I got fired up and stayed just to show them up. Now today Coach Story is one of my best friends.
    • Dylan's Dad, I'm glad you replied. I wanted to reply but wasnt willing to take the bait. There were 20 wrestlers on the team. I may be mistaken and correct me if I'm wrong but I believe 5 of the 20 attend McCallie right now and one will next year. At most, there are/were 6 kids on that team who attend McC. That leaves 14 other team members who have ZERO affiliation with McC (outside of maybe some friends) who represented our state to the best of their ability and wrestled their butts off that weekend. That weekend was a first for Tennessee and obviously a small step in the right direction for us as a state. Congratulations TEAM TN BLACK!
