I’m sure they are good athletes, but I find it hard to believe that Mt. Pleasant has athletes that are any better than the ones they have seen. One other thing, MP has not seen team speed like they will Friday night. These Mustangs hung 41 in the 1st half on Moore co last Friday and 2 of the leading rushers only had 2 or 3 carries.

Your wrong on them not seeing any team speed this year JS

Pulling for MTP in this one. Region 5 all the way. Time for #13 to show why he was selected as a semi finalist for MR. FOOTBALL.

Having to help pump up the brothers from R5. To quote Forrest Gump..."like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get".

Hope conditioning is better now than it was in WK 5. MTP was gassed in the 2nd quarter. Not smack talking, being honest. I, as a Bulldog fan, am torn on who I would like to see win. MTP wins, we get another home game and put travel off for a week. Huntingdon wins, we get a chance to have a rematch of what I will say was one of the two best games of the playoffs last season. Best of luck to both teams for an injury free hard fought game.

Ready for Friday. It’s gonna be cold but great football weather. Huntingdon will be too much for Mt pleasant to handle. Yes MTP has a good RB, but so have a lot of teams Huntingdon has faced. Huntingdon gang tackles aggressively and most of the time will meet you in the backfield. Coach Swenson will have them ready. He did against Moore county as Huntingdon looked like a well oiled machine.

Huntingdon 47

MTP 14

If this young man squares one of them up it will be bad.  Most physical LB I have seen in a long time.  Might want to run away from him.

Knowing Swenson he will do the opposite. He will run right at him. Over and over and over. Throw 3 or 4 blockers at a time and wear him down.  I look forward to seeing him play.

    • When Danny was a senior he was the quarterback on the 82 team and also the placeholder on extra points. At the end of the game Heritage scored a touchdown with very little time left and went ahead 9-0. On the following extra point Danny rose up and threw a perfect pass to one of his receivers which made it 11-0 and Heritage's first win against Maryville since the series started in 77. Maryville fans were highly ticked off because they felt like it was rubbing salt in the wound. The following year when both teams met again at Maryville  the Rebels ran away with the game and after the first couple of touchdowns they went for two points after each score for a pay back and the score was 45-0 at halftime. The following Monday Bob Gilbert the sports eiditor for the local paper bashed Maryville in an article called the Humilation of Teenagers and tore into Maryville even though he was a graduate of the school. Those were the good ole days when Heritage had decent teams and the rivalry between them and Maryville was a fun event to see.
    • I get all that.  And I agree too.  However, if the coach is only there to coach that would give them more time to do those things. The school system and booster clubs combine and pay them.
