So, what is the status in Tellico Plains? Tough region but opportunity to make playoffs every year with only 5 teams. Why can't Tellico Plains win, and what are some reasons a coach would want to go there? In other words...is there hope to have a winner there? Mullinax is very well thought of in coaching circles and wins were still hard for him to get.

Many times, it’s not about the X’s and O’s.... what matters is the Jimmy’s and the Joe’s.

Nothing. Could be a situation where they do not know what positions will be open until May when teachers retire, transfer, etc.

I'd vote McMinn gets announced first because of the program size benefits compared to TP.  It makes you wonder however if TP has offered to a coach who is waiting on another school's decision before they accept the Bear's position.  If that is the case you would also be justified in asking if they are getting a coach that wants to be there for the right reasons or because it's whats left after the dust settles.  If they didn't have a candidate then why not re-advertise so I am guessing they are just waiting on another shoe to drop somewhere.

I'd say you might be right. They have been turned down by alot of coaches. That I do know. I also know that alumni have applied, were willing to take a pay cut and were turned away with not even as much as an interview. So, they get what they deserve if a coach is there because they're the leftovers. Jmo
