No one outside of the Stratford  team and family believed we could win tonight.  We knew our guys matched up well, this wasn’t week 7, this was Round 2.   Our schedule prepared us for any team, because no one played a tougher schedule than Stratford! The coaches, Spartan Nation, and Dalewood Methodist believe in our young men and most importantly our young men believe in themselves and one another. We appreciate the good sportsmanship and great competition with PC tonight.....to say the least this is a major win for Stratford. Coach Porter and his staff have prepared this team to battle in the playoffs.  Tonight is only one game, and we have another challenge in 7 days.

To clarify any confusion with the ending of the game tonight, the SRO and metro told us we had to go straight to the bus.  The coaches went to mid field to shake hands at the 50, but our players didn’t have an option.  Great game Pearl Cohn/MLK  players and coaches, we have respect for your program and players.

Stratford pulled off one of the biggest upsets in metro history IMO. No worries about shaking hands, congratulations on the win!!

I was surprised, but not shocked. It just goes to show you what good coaching in any metro school will do. The athletes have always been there. For years PC has had the best staff in metro, still does, but Stratford has got a good staff now too. Best of luck to Stratford and the Firebirds moving forward.

Thanks, Stratford played a heck of a game last night respect to them.

    • I think the OC is a guy the he brought from Fulton with him. I am not sure though. I have heard a lot of conflicting information. It seems like a couple of coaches that he hired have since been let go.

    • If someone needed their grades pumped up surley it would have to be for someone needing it to get to another level. If your intending on going to work right after high school it wouldn't matter. Why would someone in their right mind think if they screwed it up in high school that their ready for college. It has to be for an athlete to get them over the fence to get in and from that point the school their going to will cheat them through the rest of the way for their athletic skills just like the rest.
    • The new school will be on that road behind Home Depot next to a church. I'm wondering if this could take from Greenback or could it be the end of Greenback, they only have 200 students.
    • Yeah it will take the county kids in that area that were going to lenior city. They will move down to 4a I think
