Of course it rained again this morning...

@kwc, I don’t see anything about this game in that link?

Oops ... my mistake. I could have swore they had a capsule on this game. Sorry about that. It's the CA's oversight. I just went back to the article to make sure I didn't mess up, sure enough, they don't mention this game. Wow.

Shelby Metro Sportsblog's capsule on this game below:

St George's (5-6) at CPA (11-0)

This is the first meeting ever between the two teams. The Gryphons are coming off a thrilling 49-48 victory over Harding Academy in the opening round and will have their hands full with the Lions. CPA features 2 Mr. Football semifinalists in Noah Henderson (63 catches, 1061 yds 9 TD) & Kane Patterson (12 rushing TD, 40 tackles, 7 TFL, 3 sacks). They have dominated their opponents this year averaging 40 pts/gm. Their closest game was a victory over Pearl Cohn 18-14. No other team has come within 10 pts of them.

If the Gryphons want to advance to the semifinals, they are going to need a repeat performance from Timber King. King rushed for 212 yds & 2 TD & caught a TD pass as well in the opening round victory. QB Spencer Smith has had an exceptional year, throwing for over 2200 yds with 23 TD & only 3 interceptions. The winner will play the winner of the ECS-Lausanne game next.

half time 49-7, no running clock and just enough wind to make it miserable at 38 degrees. CPA scored on opening kickoff and was never stopped. St Georges only had 25 kids  dressed. King looks good and so do 2 Smiths, but CPA is better at every position. Ugly game for refs. Field was dried today but still mud fun for everyone. Noah Henderson had two looong TD's. Patterson and Madden ran at will, no Sam West who is still ankle injured and not dressed.. St Georges did a good job motion and scheming to get CPA defense discombobulted, especially safeties who left middle of field open for slants and skinny posts. Big deal and much needed for CPA to have Stubblefield back kicking. I left at half because it was more misery than I was willing to take. Total domination by  Lions as expected.
