Any progress on this search?   Hopefully, the Westview Administration will take the time to fight the right coach for this job and not just hire someone to fit an open teaching position.   Having a young QB like Simpson should attract some attention from coaches from across the state.

Is Barker in the mix for this job? I know he is on staff there!

Will the younger Simpson stay at Westview or head to Henry County?  Surely the Elder Simpson won't pull such shenanigans, especially since he will have to walk into Westview High School to recruit.  Just sayin'

I'm hearing Bo Wallace from Giles county is interested.  I would assume he would be a QB oriented coach. Very good work ethic and brings a lot of championship experience.  Go Luck  to all.

How's Bo been at Giles County? No question he would be a great QB to learn from, but can he coach?

IMO, he is not ready to be a HC of a program. It would be a mistake by the Chargers. The man they need to be looking for is sitting on the Tennessee River leading a program.

IMHO, no one knows how anyone will work out until given a chance.  What I do know is Bo has been coached at a very high level and coached at EMCC where he won a state and National Championship.  Whether any of that means he will be a good or great coach, only time will tell.  Every coach that is coaching today probably had the same questions asked about them. But you can not argue with the success he has had at every level of competition he has been on.

Not sure what "Bo Knows".  I hear the coach to be is more likely a Mountain Man than a riverrat.  The money has to be right though.

I didn't think Jesse Powell was ready to be a head coach at North Side, but he was just plays away from a semi-final appearance in his first season. Also didn't think Scott Frost would be the right guy that Riverside, but look at what he has done for the Panthers in the last two seasons. Not trying to bash you, but some of the guys that I've said  "weren't ready" or "this move will not work out" have proved me wrong. I'm actually anxious to see what Wallace can bring in Martin. Going deep in the playoffs? Doubt. A bunch of excitement in Martin? Heck yeah

    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
    • Could not agree more. After this year, McKenzie's new coach will have their work cut out for them. Staying in 1A would definitely be a huge plus. Most years there is not much difference in the top 5- 1A and 2A teams across the state, but after the top 5 or so there is normally a huge drop off for 1A. Regular season region play is a lot easier for 1A in West TN  right now.
    • Word is Jason Maxwell will be new AD - he is currently head baseball coach. Also heard Roc might be headed to Pope as an assistant coach.
