My gosh! That was my last HS game... I’m getting old now

Peabody had quite a run that year in the playoffs. Taking down a very good Martin Westview team on the road, then beating Memphis Carver on the road, & then upsetting the #1 seeded Milan Bulldogs in the quarterfinals on the road. I think Peabody managed to put up 40 points that night. The most points that Milan team gave up all year. Peabody just ran out of steam when they had to travel to Goodpasture in the semis. It’s tough to win 4 straight games all on the road. That was a memorable run.

Yes it was. That Goodpasture team was tough that year. I played Defense so I wasn’t out there on O but I can remember at half all the lineman saying they had this one linebacker that was impossible to block. I can’t remember his name very well, but I think he played at TN. And that Running back they had that year just so happened to play about 4-5 years in the NFL lol.

This time of the year the teams that can and do pass tend to advance. That has a lot of weight on why the hard running, eight in the box West TN teams keep getting knocked out by the East and Middle TN teams. I know Peabody is tough and well coached, but I'm going with UC because they have more of a passing attack. I think that's one reason they have been so successful. They are not your typical West TN team.

    • Yeah, you might be right. We will see what happens. Should be interesting.
    • None taken ever. I just gotta believe that AC started the fire on this. Small towns talk clinton is a small town. They may have not been the official one to put ink to paper but I am sure they are the ones moving the pieces here.
    • No offense intended,  but I will take the word of an actual administrator in that system on that question.
    • My guess is, this has absolutely nothing to do with athletics. I could be completely wrong. Just going to let this play out over the next few days/weeks before throwing accusations around. Funny how when OR benefits from “transfers” it is because of the incredible school system and never for athletics because most people can’t afford the “tuition”! Going to be interesting to say the least.    And if AC is turning anybody in, shame on them. They have benefited and work the system more than most over the years.
    • I think if either were their own school system then it wouldn't have happened. Of course a lot will make sense if they student who got their grades changed was an athlete
