Mt. Juliet vs Oakland

Winning the line of scrimmage on defense will be the key in this game.  Oakland made adjustments in the second half of the Maryville game on the offensive line (focused on firing out on the Maryville linebackers (trying to slow their speed and the damage the Rebs LB's could do with their outside pursuit).  They had some success, but did not adjust on the defensive line as much.  Maryville lost to Alcoa because of great line play and Alcoa passed the ball 16 times or more.  My assumption is that Oakland and M.J. are run heavy.  The team that stops the run wins the game.

As a Rebel fan, I would rather not face Oakland again, especially at Oakland.   I hope MJ wins. I grew up in the area and would like for them to have a shot to play Maryville (assuming Rebs win, of course). Hard to believe someone in that region can knock off the Patriots. (Past history does not favor the Bears).

P.S.  I think Oakland should have passed more on Maryville.  They can pass, they just don't need to very much! Prove me wrong M.J. stop the run, make them pass. Let's see what happens!

Proud of the Golden Bears this season. I think this surge started 2 years ago really. Say what you want about a weak schedule but from what I understand MJ is pretty healthy right now. Better to play a real 5 game season with healthy bodies, than limping into the playoffs. CTP and staff are doing an amazing job right now.

Injuries can strike literally at any moment. You should be proud of MJ, they've earned some respect from me, but there is no advantage to playing a weak non region schedule. Already adding Blackman to the schedule for '19-20 hammers that point home. That schedule was created for job security.
