Lipscomb no longer requires employees to be church of Christ to work at school.

From the Lipscomb Acad. Website

Thank you for your interest in teaching at Lipscomb Academy. Minimum qualifications for candidates are a bachelor's degree, teaching certification in their subject area (or areas), and active membership in the Church of Christ.

Below is copied from the job description requirements. Notice at the bottom it says preference not required.

Lipscomb University complies with all applicable federal and state nondiscrimination laws and does not engage in prohibited discrimination on the basis of race, religion, sex, age, color, national or ethnic origin, or disability in the administration of its educational policies, programs and activities.
Hiring Statement Lipscomb Academy is a private, Christian K-12 school associated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ and governed by religious tenets held by the Church of Christ. Preference will be given to applicants who are members of the Church of Christ.

I did not see that.

So I guess this hire is important enough to change their school's policy.
