Nathan Wilson is not an option at this point in my opinion.  In fact no one on staff is.  You have to get this hire right and get an established winner.  Bottom line you cannot screw it up.

Not sure why Wilson wouldn’t be an option. He won at Macon County, which is something most others couldn’t do. He did this competing with inferior talent to the metro teams/Springfield he was paired in the region with. With the athletes Gallatin has, his system would be fun to watch.

He was on staff at Gallatin one year, so not real sure that is a big issue. His whole reason for going to Gallatin was to get experience in a larger program and get a head coaching job in the 5A/6A classification. Gallatin would be lucky to have him from a discipline standpoint and I believe he could get the job done and return Gallatin back to prominence. For what Gallatin has in athletes, they lack in discipline.

Nathan Wilson, NO! Dustin Wilson, Maybe!  Again Gallatin, should have had someone in mind before this occured! I just don't think athletes are what they used to be at Gallatin! Crabtree is Great coach, but he does have athletes to work with! Are they going to leave this up to Becker? He appears to be clueless, athletically speaking!

GO JACKETS!

I don't know that Dustin Wilson would be interested, as he's at his alma mater and winning at a pretty good clip.  He's also the AD, so I don't know if there's money associated with that or not.  Either way, he's in complete control where he's at.

Crabtree has athletes, but not what Gallatin has year in year out, but not sure what that has to do with this conversation, he's not going anywhere.  His son is a junior and they are going to be better next year than this year.  No chance he leaves at this point.

There may be other people either currently at Beech or previously at Beech who would be good hires and maybe interested, but not Crabtree.

How are the athletes down like you say?? They STILL had the best, maybe 2nd best raw talent in the entire county this year regardless of the record. They aren't Portland, they aren't Lebanon. They are not losing games because of having less talent......

Mt Juliet, Beech, Hendersonville were all better! I can't defend loss to SC! BAD! Just my opinion GHS will never be the power they once were! If they go to 6a in a couple years, this coach will be like starting over!   Should have waited one more year then possibly could have had Crabtree! Just my opinion!

I know there are a lot of coaches that realize Gallatin has the best athletes in the county. Will they have down years? Sure, but they will always have athletes.  I know there are a lot of coaches that know you can still win there,

I believe this hire has to be the right hire, they need to win.  I don't think it has to be a splash hire, but you better get someone that understands what it takes to win and someone that can handle the 5/6A pressures of a tradition rich program. I would imagine there will be some coaches that apply that have won championships, either as HCs or coordinators.

All three of those TEAMS were better, but I believe athletically, they were equal to or better than HHS and BHS, athletically.  MJ had better athletes.  I don't think Crabtree would have an interest.  You can win at Gallatin, but it's an uphill battle and will take some time.

MJ is not in Sumner County. And MOST years, they have less talent than Gallatin. Maybe not this year though. I will definitely argue that Gallatin had more talent this year than Beech and Hville. But were both much better than Gallatin this year though as a team with good coaching? Yes...

Why the animosity towards Nathan? You are a typical Trousdale guy. He has a winning record against you all and not many head coaches can say that. He would coach circles around Waggoner. Y’all are winning this year in spite of him. Gallatin had skill talent this year, but their line was subpar. I saw the Beech game and they manhandled Gallatin upfront. Gallatin’s lack of discipline is the number one thing that needs fixing before they return to being a contender in 5A/6A.

Not sure who handles the OL coaching at Gallatin, but Beech has a pretty good one.
