I told him all year this was a young football team. Now... saying that and looking back.  It was obvious they were very close this year.

It must be a hard pill for Cornersville to swallow. Cornersville was in complete control of the game and let Whitwell hang around and pull it out in the end. Whitwell was a gritty bunch that refused to lose. Hats off to both schools on a very hard hitting game. Congratulations to both teams and a big congrats to Whitwell on winning the title. Cornersville nothing to hang your heads about.

I have them, but not handy. Every stat was dominated by Cornersville except the one that mattered most. If I get to them later I will post them unless someone does before I get to it.

Cornersville ran 14 plays in the final 4:25 of the game. They ran 3 plays and had a false start penalty in the final 55 secs of the game. They used all 3 timeouts and got down to the Whitwell 21 yard line going into the wind (and the refs missed a 15 yard horse collar personal foul). All this was done without attempting a pass until the final 3 seconds. Any talk of clock mismanagement is nonsense.
