I’d say we were battle tested, though. Our 3rd and 4th round games when you offer context, should speak for itself. 

 

 

I think Petty was the most talented player on the field, but I still think Cornersville had more talent. However, the line is so thin between the two in terms of overall talent, that you can’t go wrong either way.

I wanted to do this last week but didn't want to be a prisoner of the moment. Eli Woodard of Cornersville High School is one of the Top 3 best HIGH SCHOOL football players I've ever coached against. I'm not saying the best college prospect because I've coached against Golden Gate and several other good college players. Eli Woodard is a kid that if his team needed 4 yards on 4th down.... he'd get 6!!!! Last season he played in the last 3 games of the season with a broke leg!!!!! This year on the opening kickoff of the state championship game...he tore up his AC joint on his throwing arm but that man had 200 yds all purpose! 
Congratulations on a great career and He , Roger Herndon, and Jared Elliott are in my Top 3.

Also, I heard that Eli Woodard tore a tendon in his shoulder and is OUT for the East/West game.

Was it then that he injured his shoulder? He was throwing back and forth with Henlee at the half from about 20 yards out with no noticeable discomfort.

 

 

 

He’s tougher than 11 year old deer jerky so it wouldn’t surprise me either way.

Not sure man. I didn't notice him favoring it but knowing how tough that kid is he may not have given it any thought until after the game.

I’m sure the adrenaline of playing in the state championship is comparable to doing a whole kilo of coke in one sitting. I could see how it would blind you.

Yeah but he did it in the Fayetteville game last year too. The kid is just tough plain and simple. Kind of reminds me of Coach Vanhooser talking about playing his senior year with a broken tail bone.  Cant imagine how painful that must have been.

Coach Van tore his bicep my sophomore year, spotting me during workouts. He didn’t know it until 4 years later lolololololol

That man is an animal! I have seen him have some farming accidents that would bring a lesser man to his knees. Didn't even faze him . Just kept on trucking.

Same here, brother. He was like a father figure to me along with Coach Stocstill. We may not have won, but those two turned me into a man. They were the two most influential people in my life during high school. I wouldn’t trade playing for another coaching staff in a second.

 

 

 

 

However, it looks like the current Cornersville crop is getting the best of both worlds. Very, very fortunate to have this current staff.
